  1. What's the word in the armour thickness? It appears pretty thick, how's that for comfort?
  2. Kit deatails are a little vague? Will it comes with everything the finished suit comes with?
  3. Thanks for the info guys. There are a couple of sports shops in town which I'll check out, don't know why I didn't think of that. If anyone needs a neck seal maybe we could split postage from the US, Darman's? Cheers
  4. New to this side of things and was wondering if there is a recommended supplier of soft parts in the UK? Primarily looking for an undersuit. Are these folks reputable? http://stormtrooperundersuit.com/index.php Cheers
  5. I'm about to start my MGC conversion and I'm trying to find the lengths of the barrel fins. I've found plenty of pics but no measurements, can anyone help? Cheers
  6. The 99MG was actually Luke's prototype blaster but never made it on screen. I have a Hyperfirm style version.
  7. Yep, got a Tie Pilot from Andy with no complaints, more than helpful all through the deal.
  8. Hey Vern, or anyone else with an MGC, could you give me the length of the Blaster please. Searches and googles aren't coming up with anything? Cheers
  9. I've no idea how to make a bolt but looking forward to watching your build. Congrats!
  10. I had a message with Tango'd early July. He said he still made the ESB kits, I said I'll have a couple please but I haven't heard back. Hopefully he'll drop in and say hello.
  11. Not sure if 'neat' would've been my first choice to describe it but I'm happy. Thanks for the kind words guys.
  12. Hi Rob, thanks for the gentle push. Kids are great but they seem to create a black hole for my time So I actually got round to cutting the magazine last weekend and think I've gone as far as I can go until Andy has more news on his power cylinders. I didn't take metal work at school but I got there in the end, a little cutting (metal & fingers), bending and filing I ended up with this Onto the scope rail and last month having already bent Rob's ear with general Sterling stuff I asked him about his fancy looking rail. Being the top man that he is he very kindly offered to make me one which was an offer I couldn't refuse! I feel this has taken my Blaster to a level I couldn't have reached, such a quality job even sorting my counter too, thanks again Rob, I love it! So put it all together and whack it on my MR stand it looks like this This is quite easily my new favourite item in my collection, practically straight from the film into my house! Thanks again Rob, you're a star. Unfortunately it's a new spec deactivation so no moving parts, old spec would've been cool but the money and timing was right. Cheers, Matt
  13. I agree on the Thrawn books, a stand out collection in the minefield that is the EU.
  14. Thanks people! Looks great Mark, have you given yours a paint job or is it just a different finish/condition?
  15. I've been gathering the bits and pieces for this build for a while now and have finally found some time to get going. Started by giving the Sterling a bit of a clean, not too much as it was rightly pointed out that I shouldn't remove years of natural weathering. I was looking forward to the T-track the least so I tackled that first. Tried the hot water method but ended up using the lighter as it was quicker, one or two bubbled ever so slightly with the heat but I managed to tidy them up a little and hide them on the bottom. It wasn't as tricky as I'd imagined and I might pick up some more down the road and try and get them all perfect. Not having any experience with this I'm quite pleased with the results and I'm looking forward to the next job, shortening the magazine. This will probably be Tuesday If I can farm the kids out to Grandma and Grandad's A quick thanks to Rob for his help and letting me bend his ear on a regular basis and thanks for looking. Cheers
  16. Hi Andy/PlayfulWolfCub, I'd be more than interested in some of your cylinders for my Sterling build, I'd have pretty much everything I need to go if these came up. Cheers, Matt
  17. Straight from the top drawer Rob, your attention to detail with the rail and bracket work perfectly! Finished off with the top quality stand, I'll be happy if my attempt comes anywhere near yours. Congrats!
  18. Thanks for the info guys. Cheers
  19. Thanks for the reply. Didn't think it was right due to the size, shame. Luckily I haven't paid anything for it or used it. Cheers
