I was reading on the forum about rubber gloves and someone said they were at Wal-Mart. I have a super center by my home so I went and there they were. Perfectly accurate with the grip going onto the back of the finger and much thicker and sturdier than the ones I found at Dollar Tree (Call me crazy but I'm a little weary to glue my 30 dollar guards to something from the dollar tree...). I looked back on the peg and they had large. I tried them on and they were too big. I knew the medium would be perfect but they only carry a large. I then tried to google the brand and couldn't find anything! I have used the search function and have been finding discussion from years ago with broken links. All the current threads have post like "look for these" with a photobucket picture. Is there anyone out there with a link to the super screen accurate gloves with the correct palm and fingernail grip in a medium? Any help is appreciated and if you have a large hand, you can get your gloves at Wal-Mart. I need something to type into google besides "rubber chemical gloves, black"

Hey, you said wal mart has the accurate ones? I wanna get those. I want to be as accurate as possible. Which part of wal mart can I find them? Car repair? -
I must say that the seller is fantastic! They are just the best. Had to say it, just in case someone was wondering

how do these gloves look?

I know they're not accurate, but they were a dollar. what would make them accurate? I'm wondering, did the originals have no textured grip? I swear someone said Han had grip over the fingers like the picture posted above. BTW can I see your guys' gloves being worn so I can get an idea of how much slack there should be? -
TK boots feel a bit loose
bigtrev503 replied to bigtrev503's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I ended up finding insoles that are made for shoes that are too big for you. They're called Dr. Scholl's air pillo. here's a link --------- EDIT: I got these insoles in the mail just after posting this and they make a huge difference! I highly recommend them for anyone who is wondering which ones to get. They're a lot cheaper than the gel ones, too. -
i got them at the dollar store. how do they look? this was a medium and they do come in small. should i get the small? -----------

Yep, that's Portland. I live in Portland, OR and I heard about this from a classmate about a week ago. Also, this happened: "Officers tried to arrest the man, but he kept swinging the light saber at them" http://www.oregonliv..._man_aft_1.html

TK boots feel a bit loose
bigtrev503 replied to bigtrev503's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I implore you, what is the make and model of "thick gel" insoles used most by members for comfort and fit? I have begun breaking them in and, while they do fit a bit better, I can tell insoles would make these better. Especially while trooping for a long time. -

TK boots feel a bit loose
bigtrev503 replied to bigtrev503's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Let me put it this way, how much space is there between your toe and the end of the boot? Also, I have seen a technique to make boots bigger by using acetone, or rubbing alcohol(?) I wonder if that would help conform these to my feet. -
I have received my bubble lenses from John. Thanks, bro!! Also got my TK boots. I was wondering if there is a resource to Harrison Ford's height and weight at the time in 1977. I know the armor was designed for someone 5' 10 and 150 lbs, but what other measurements should be considered? I am 5' 10 and 158 lbs (as of yesterday with all my clothes on) I just want to make the armor as close to it's intended fit as possible.

TK boots feel a bit loose

I should try insoles? I just don't want to have to buy them again as I just went through this with my recent diveskin purchase. It arrived and was too small, and had to be sent back which cost me an additional ten buck for the return shipping. I'm trying to avoid it, but worst case, I could order new ones in a 9 and sell my tens here for a discount. -

You should totally let us know how the 10s feel when they come. -
TK boots feel a bit loose
bigtrev503 replied to bigtrev503's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Wear them out and about and see if they rub or flop off at all. See if they fit comfortably in general. Maybe the leather needs to be broken in a bit. I just don't want to break them in and then need new ones and have to pay all over again. -
I got my new boots and they feel a bit loose. Especially around the ankle and when I lift my foot it kind of drops off my foot. I wear a 10 and ordered 9.5 shoes once and they were tight. I have taken pictures as you can see below. Can people post pictures of what their leg looks like with the boot on, like with your pantleg rolled up? Just want to see how much loose leather there should be around the ankles. Also, for the sake of argument, I was wearing cotton ankle high socks. Thanks guys!! --------

Ok, my focus right now will be on cutting, trimming and fitting, and gluing the inside cover strips. After that I will deal with minor tweaks, like heat-bending parts to fit better, trimming my ATA thigh tops to be accurate, and heating out the right thumbprint. For now, any and all advice on how to CUT TRIM and FIT is what I'm after. Please help!! Oh, yes. The helmet is going to be constructed as well along with the cutting and fitting process. Any and all help is appreciated! Is it wrong to ask members individually for specific help, or is that too intrusive?

Some questions: Is there a really thorough thread showing just how much return edge there needs to be for all the parts? All I can really find is things like "varying amounts of return edge all over" Also, as far as helmet assembly, what kind of screws do I need to put the helmet together? What gauge of drill do I use? The ATA kit came with a baggie of hardware. Is that just for the aerators? Is there a good resource for hd screencaps of anh troopers? I've searched this forum and the internet a lot webs only come up with starwarshelmets. Which is good for helmet reference, but I need full body reference pictures, preferably hero.

Inexpensive TK Gloves for Noobs
bigtrev503 replied to senna1rossi's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I was actually about to begin a new thread about this just now. There simply must be a screen accurate alternative to chemical gloves. I know everyone uses the flight gloves but they're expensive. Is there no other glove in the world that is fairly accurate, inexpensive, and comfortable at the same time? -
Question: Is it going to be a big deal if I don't fill in the fourth tooth holes on the frown and or the second screw hole on the ears? Also, anything Han Solo TK specific that isn't noted in the "How to make your TK as accurate as possible" thread? Also, can you see how the cod right over the crotch area is malformed and not symmetrical? Is that normal?
