  1. Love the new look! I haven't been on the boards for over a year but am back and putting on the finishing touches to my armor so I can apply for the 501st. This whole update to FISD is almost like a "Welcome Back" for me. Keep up the great work!
  2. I will miss the gallery as I really enjoy looking at the pics of how people build, mod and wear their armor etc. I don't know if this is a good idea or not but do you think it would be possible to have a thread of members listing a link to their photo album with a short description of what that link contains? That way people can can browse all the pics in one simple thread? Just a thought...
  3. Scott I was wondering if you had an update on how your wife is doing... Hope all is well Brian
  4. Great pics. Looks like you all had a lot of fun!
  5. wow. nice room. I wish my wife would let me have a mancave....
  6. Hey Mark Glad to see you are doing well. I know you have been working hard trying to lose weight by waging battle against them tempting twinkies. May your recovery continue to go well and hope you will continue to lead a healthy and long life.
  7. You and your family are in my prayers. May He give you the strength to persevere during these challenging times. Lastly, may the surgery go well tomorrow morning. Brian
  8. Good to see you up and going again. And nice jersey too!
  9. I used industrial strength velcro that has the stickier adhesive on it. The soft side attached to the calves facing inward to my underarmor and the prickly side attached to the vinyl facing out. I guess you could sew the velcro to the vinyl for more durability but I haven't needed to do so. Hope this helps.
  10. I bought my white vinyl cloth at Joanne's. It was pretty inexpensive. I then used velcro and attached it to the open gap at the back of my shins.
  11. I have large calves as well (46cm) and I use the white vinyl along the back of the calves attached with velcro. The front of my calves are glued. So far, no problems
  12. Thanks, Billy for the link! I learn something new on FISD all the time. Gotta love that Brian
  13. Do you have a pic of the hobby iron? And maybe give some tips on using it? Thx in advance

    Hit and run

Sorry to hear about your accident. Really Hate those people who don't accept responsibility for their actions. On top of it, you had a jerk of a trooper as well... You may want to take you and your family to see a chiropractor on Monday. Sometimes, things get jostled up and need to get put back in place. You may start to feel sore in a few days too so now is a good time to put ice to minimize the inflamation Take care and be well
  15. I feel for you as well. I'm unemployed as well and have become a Mr Mom to my two kids. May as well enjoy the time with the kids before its too late... Luckily my wife still has a job. Since it looks like a number of us need a little cheering up, here is a video you may enjoy. Hang in there during these tough times... Brian
  16. I believe he is still making armor but he has a waiting list. If you email him, you may have to be patient and wait a few days as he travels for work. His machine was down for a little bit but I believe it is up and running again. I am not sure if I am allowed to post prices on this forum but if you PM me, I can email you what he sent me. Brian
  17. Depending on where the Devcon is at, you can carefully dremmel it off or sand it. I had some excess glue that squeezed out when I was gluing my parts together and it dried having some rough and sharp edges. It would have ruined my underarmor for sure but some careful dremeling and sanding, it was good. Hope this helps Brian
  18. Sounds cool. Looking forward to seeing those pics. On another note, Mark, keep up the the losing of the weight.
  19. Any updates as to this fans performance etc?
  20. I hope I didn't give the wrong impression in that you will receive email updates on a very regular basis (ie. daily or weekly). I believe he updates (via webpage and/or email) as he finishes up each stage or as he sees fit. And for John to do a run of 50, you can probably guess that it will take a while. Be patient. I know how anxious it can be to wait for this item to mod your bucket but believe me, the wait is certainly worth it.
  21. I bought one with his last run earlier this year. Signed up and paid for it in mid-end of January. It was shipped by mid March and received a shortly thereafter. Not bad considering it traveled from the UK to Calif via air... Overall, it took a couple of months but am very very happy with it. He kept me updated via emails as to the status from start to finish (from sign-ups, payment, construction, mailing etc) so I didn't feel like I was being cheated etc. Hope this helps Brian
  22. Gotta love that grin... Its gonna get bigger when your armor is all done
  23. I remember reading somewhere that the plastic has some kind of UV coating on it. Is this true? And if it is damaged, the plastic will turn yellowish? Thanks in advance for all of your input Brian
  24. I was wondering if Isopropyl Alcohol (91%) is safe to use on ABS plastic? I had some measurement markings made by a sharpie on my armor and I wiped it quickly away with some Isopropyl alcohol. I also found it wiped away some excess overspray when I painted my helmet. Is it safe for me to do it? I don't want to damage the plastic. Just curious. Brian
