speaking of Novus #2 on this thread, has anybody ever used it to get the scratches off of sunglasses? Just curious

One of the topics covered in the current 501st podcast was the danger of heat while trooping. They mentioned the importance of staying hydrated while in armor and said some people have used camelbacks while trooping. Has anybody used a hydration system and if so, which did you use and what was your experience?

I am interested in using a heat gun to help shape my ears to better fit the helmet I am building as well as using it to shape a couple of distorted pieces in my thighs and biceps. I have heard horror stories of ruining armor if not done correctly. Thanks in advance for your tips Brian

I tested a couple of extra pieces using Devcon's Plastic Welder and it worked just fine. This is what I am using to glue the rest of the armor. In addition to the Plastic Welder, I plan on riviting the bucket at a couple of points. I'll let you know how it goes after I finish it...

I am in the process of making my bucket and I used Krylon Fusion Satin Black. Also, if you look closely, I cut out the vents in the back for a couple of fans and attached industrial velcro for the clips of my head band so I can adjust it accordingly. If I chose not to use ith head band I can just take it out. Hope this helps Brian

How do you like the helmet built with rivets? What advantages or disadvantages do you think you have over glue? Any pics? Thx
