  1. You can fix that scratch with some high grit sandpaper. I've used 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper and have done it wet. Works like a charm and since you're TK I'm sure you plan on polishing everything up at the end anyways. The ear rank looks good IMO.
  2. I don't think you're using enough magnets, throw on another 20 or 30 Looking good though! Be glad you don't have the shim because it is a pain in the butt!
  3. Where did you source your snaps for the ab to hold the belt and also the knee ammo belt? The only snaps I have right now are the Tandy Line 24 for my snap system.
  4. I end up doing most of my sanding outside because I don't have anything other than a dark, wet basement with a crappy sub-pump to work in. You'll learn by working with the armor where scissors are of better use and the same with score and snap. Just wait until you start the ears and if you end up cutting out hard hat mounts and you'll really be covered in abs dust. Most importantly, have fun!
  5. Going off the references is always going to be the best advice. When you trim the sides, trim a little because you can always trim more if need be. Make sure you have the top cap glued in place before you make any final adjustments to the face. If you don't like that seem, there are a few builds with people filling it in with abs paste or other sculpting material.
  6. Well you've already been doing that for a while now but congratulations anyways
  7. On another note, congrats on making staff, Tony. What exactly does an Imperial Attache' mean and do?
  8. I would urge you to at most go with a 7/8" front which isn't too far from 20mm and then do what you need in the rear. But keep in mind that what size you do in the rear for the thighs, you need to also use for the rear of the calves.
  9. There are a lot of troops in your area and throughout the state coming up soon so hit up the garrison forums!
  10. I'm building a MTK kit. Mike from Trooperbay makes it.
  11. Have you joined the Garrison Excelsior forums yet? The majority of the members are towards your neck of the woods and you might be able to get some assistance.
  12. What you should do BEFORE the party is the torso and ab/kidney done and assembled however method you decide. Then at the party you can have help sizing the thighs and calves. Pickup some extra clamps and magnets so you can get as much done possible during the party. I tried several times to get help from my local garrison but no one has had the time
  13. Just make sure when you use zap that you are 150% positive that the piece you are gluing is exactly how you want it because it's very hard to go back. One suggestion is to use it only on one side. For example, I used inner strips for strength when butt joining. I only used zap on one side and attached the other piece using E6000. That way If I need to go back I could but also didn't need to use all my magnets, clamps for 24 hours of waiting.
  14. Wait until you have a wife and kids and then try justifying it! I don't use credit cards so I have to sneak in orders when and where I can. I kind of wish I would have jumped on the Anovos deal a few months back and could have picked up a second suit to use for a TK but my wife would have really killed me. I could have justified it and told the wife that for less of the price I'm paying for my TD backpack I could get a second costume. I got my canvas belt, Evil Boy helmet fans (will switch to Echos once I get a Legion ID), and neckseal off sellers here. I really want to get Tony's mic tip speaker set eventually and I believe he's developing his own environmental listening system so you can hear what's going around you with the bucket on.
  15. You know who else has a arch in the brow? A captain sandtrooper... just saying
  16. Fragile, must be Italian. You could probably fix that cap with a little warm water or heat gun.
  17. Woot-woot! Those thighs turned out nicely and the thickness of the material almost serves as a return edge in itself. I'll be doing mine shortly and will copy some of your techniques.
  18. I think you should do screw, washer, mic tip, faceplate, lock washer, and then nut. I have the Mike mic tips and those have the screw embedded in already.
  19. Now change that signature to YOU in the armor.
  20. Wow, that's an expensive blaster. Good luck with your build. I thought the unbreakable one was expensive. I'm going with the cheaper resin one from her though.
  21. I bought 50 Line 24 Tandy snaps, a snap tool, and went last week to get the set kit. I'm doing snaps with webbing/elastic and not the O.G. strapping kit.
