  1. yeah, but REAL carbon fibre armor will be almost indestructible... fake CF "look" parts are for *ussies...
  2. ^ That's an interesting point... obviously, there's a big difference between idealized accuracy compared to movie prop accuracy. Was Centurion always aimed at prop accuracy from inception? My next goal is EIB... and perhaps Centurion in the future.
  3. any semi-gloss black model paint would work too (e.g., Tamiya, Pactra)
  4. ooooh, it may be tough to pull off by end of the year, but I'm gonna try... here i come, EI??? heh
  5. one of the things that helped me a lot was to look at the photos of FISD Expert Infantryman and Centurion program. it shows pics from all four sides, which was really helpful for me, and many details for reference. a very good tool!
  6. uh sorry, what was the question...? darn! nvm, you guys already beat me to the punch...
  7. i need some help, please. i'm still unsure of how the shoulder bells attach to the chest / back armor. still use 1.5" wide black elastic, or could i use wider width? does the shoulder bells just sit on your shoulders? no insulation foam on the inside, correct? should there be any gap between bells to armor? does anyone have good thread link with detailed pics? Thanks!
  8. ^ hey Tim, would you mind driving to Vegas, and fiishing my armor, please? i'll take you to all the hot spots after you finish...
  9. thanks! unfortunately, i have no more material to trim away at the elbow end of the armor. it literally cuts off circulation... i have barely enough at the hand side. could I trim most of the return edge at the elbow end to give me room, or is this a no-no for 501st acceptance? do i still use 15mm finishing strip to cover up my 40mm ridge to ridge distance or is in better to use 38 ish mm finishing strip? and lastly, do most of you guys have a tapered forearm assembly where it's narrower at the hand side of the armor?? could you clarify, please? taller? new reveal?
  10. sorry guys... i'm sure some of you are rolling your eyes (yet, once again) from a noob query. the left forearm seems to be way too narrow (diameter). would i have any issues leaving a width of 4cm from ridge to ridge? there's no way to bring that down to typical 15-16mm width (the outer, or the top seam is cut to 15-16mm already...), and there's no way to use the overlap method (for obvious reasons). Thoughts?
  11. sorry to thread jack... any thoughts on this one?? http://www.ebay.com/itm/STORMTROOPER-ARMOUR-RIBBED-DELUXE-NECKSEAL-SIZE-17-L-/180729662727?pt=UK_Collectables_SciFi_fantasyCollectables_EH&hash=item2a1453cd07

  14. just give it to her really hard... she'll come aroond. be a man, wussy!
  15. i used small amounts of E6000 to attach the black trim pieces and used blue painter's tape to hold it in place over night... worked great!
  16. BUMP just for the wookies that were woondering (like meself)... 16mm - ARMS 21mm - LEGS this would work, correct? it's the official "unofficial" (or is that unofficial "official") strip sizing for 501st?
  17. do most of yous youts own the MR1506? that's a fully integrated, fully operational (uh huh huh) unit, correct??
  18. of course you would! you serve lord Vader!!! lol
