Well here goes!! I started work on my awesome CAP-W helmet from Scootch. Got all the trimming done around the rim and did a test fit with magnets. I have always been a fan of the "Move Along" and "Mr. No Stripes" high brow look, so I am setting mine high. Hopefully not too high though. Let me know what you guys think and I will keep updates going as I build. It is going to be an ANH "chipper" helmet! Supplies so far: Test fitted bucket:

I had a pair of CABoots and hated them. The patent leather looks milky. Wish I would've known about TK boots then! Better looking at over half the price = no brainer!

That's what I was thinking. I usually work slow, so I have no problem letting the base coat gas out or a good week or two before painting with the topcoat.

I am wanting to paint my recently acquired Scootch helmet as a slightly weathered HDPE ANH style helmet like I have seen other members do, specifically AJCG. Since all Krylon, not just the Fusion, is formulated for plastic...would it be a safe to say I could use that in lieu of the Rustoleum for plastic for my base coat and still use the Rustoleum Pro White for my top coat? Or rather, has anyone here used Krylon and then Rustoleum? Any problems? I think I remember using a Krylon primer on a model car kit, then using a Dupli-Color engine enamel and not having any issues. As always, any tips are appreciated!

I make replica hockey masks that use the Line 24 snaps and for anybody that is concerned, I use the hammer and anvil right on the mask to set the snaps and have never had a problem with ABS cracking, breaking, shattering etc. Styrene I can't vouch for.
