  1. You're right! Perhaps any BFG is ok since Jes is the heavy weapons expert. Next goal is trying to find one for me to troop with! Smitty- are you busy??!?!!?
  2. A comic drawing of Jes with her heavy weapon : Jes with the Joker Squad
  3. Anyone happen to know the type of heavy weapon Jes Gistang, the female stormtrooper, from Joker Squad uses?
  4. Oooohhhh Thayne! Awesome on the purchase I'll be at D*C since I go every year. Tell your garrison mates that TKEastbay will be there. I'll be staying at the Hilton with Smitty and my other half DZ- 1673. Peeps can look for me as an ISO gal at the Mixer too
  5. Miranda~ Any chance you can post how you keep your thighs up - did you use a belt, back support straps etc with velcro? I have a problem with the thigh armor not sitting high enough on my legs. Thanks!
  6. Chris/Madmartigan~ Thank you for the analysis and suggestions . I ended up prying off the two straps to replace them with new ones. I'll take your advice about the positioning of the straps. The placement was just all wrong I'm a bit scared to attack the chest piece with my Dremel, but a TK's gotta do what a TK's gotta do - show off them ab buttons!
  7. I just bought a hobby iron in fact! Please look for me at SDCC - perhaps at the photo shoot (can't miss the shortest GGG TK ) I didn't have the chance to get 501st dinner tickets since they sold out
  8. Thank you so much for the support and information on this wonderful forum. I've been approved (with some armor recommendations ). Hence, the earlier post on separating ABS straps after use of PVC pipe glue - Lol! Just some minor adjustments ( Spoox/ TK 7107 can relate to me on that) - straps need to be repositioned, chest armor piece needs to be shortened, thighs need to be "evened out". Got a little work to do this week/weekend before SD Comic Con. After the changes, I'll have better pictures for my Legion profile Here is a little sample of me - yes I am a little short to be a Stormtrooper, but it's been my dream of a lifetime (WoW! That chest piece is way too long on me /gasp! and Yes, that is the amazing Smitty Blaster)
  9. Requesting 501st Trooper Access: Admitted to Legion July 14, 2009 ( BIG YaY!!!) Michelle Bassig TK - 9798 http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember...hp?userID=10779
  10. Well...I tired the upholstery thread - it sorta worked, just enough to get the ends off. But, I ended up using a blade to pry off the straps I need to do alot of shortening of the straps and chest piece anyway, so the mini chunks of ABS that came off was not going to be a problem- Lol! I ended up finding a pair of new straps just in time to be sent and attached before Comic Con. Whew! Michelle TKEastbay
  11. Where can you find upholstery thread - fabric store or specialty furniture store? Thanks for all these tips Michelle TKEastbay
  12. Long story short...buddy used PVC pipe glue to attatch Fx straps to the chest and back pieces. Any chance to separate the straps from the chest/back without too much damage? Planning on getting new replacement straps - it's the chest/back pieces that we're afraid of ruining. Any and all tips appreciated! Michelle TKEastbay
  13. Ed~ How are you getting down to SDCC? I am flying on Southwest, but I am still debating on how I am getting my Smitty-built E-11 blaster down there. Have you flown with your weapon props in checked baggage? Some folks are telling me to ship it to the hotel Michelle TKEastbay
  14. Doing some last minute "fixing" on my FX lite armor paired with my RT-Mod bucket so I can finally get 501st approved. Man, the armor pinching totally sucks I've never seen so many brusies on my arms and back of my knees <_< Other than that, catching up on some DvD movies (The Wrestler and Underworld - Rise of the Lycans). Then father's day festivities on Sunday Also, heading to Bev-Mo for a run on some Scotch Happy Father's Day to all you TK dads! Michelle TKEastbay
  15. In relation to this thread of airline traveling, how do you pack your E-11's when flying - in the same bin/luggage as your armor? Do you declare it as a prop weapon at check-in? Any special way(s) to pack it like leaving it in the holster or wrapped in bubble wrap? Lol, ok this may sound way too cautious now I'll be flying down for ComicCon and then back east for DragonCon, and I really don't want to keep mailing the blaster back-and-forth. Thanks TK's! Michelle TKEastbay
  16. I'll try looking for these marine snaps. I went to Home Depot, OSH, Lowe's - they all had the same smaller sized snaps. Thanks again all Michelle TKEastbay
  17. Thanks all for the tips. I'm having a hard time finding snaps long enough to apply to ABS or even thinner plastic sheets I may end up applying snaps onto some nylon webbing then securely glue them onto the armor. Wish me luck TKEastbay
  18. Anyone have tips and some pictures on how you connect the front cod and back pieces? Basically, the strip that goes underneath your crotch I was planning on putting snaps on ABS sheets then gluing them on the front and back sections with some nylon webbing to connect them. Is this the best way or can I use something else? Any help will be appreciated! Michelle TKEastbay

    Comic Con

I got my 4 day pass a while ago. However, this morning's Comic Con hotel reservation site and phone lines were a fiasco. Is there an official 501st hotel btw? Where you will all have dinners, mixers and get-togethers? Thayne - sorry I missed you at WonderCon, but you have great pics! Hope to meet more of you troopers at CC. Michelle TKEastbay
  20. VaderDave~ Got the patch and the rest of the order. Thanks again !
