  1. Just noticed that this thread has been tagged as [AP]. The armour is TM. Cheers.
  2. ... and a big willy!
  3. Hi Graham, Obviously it's hard to comment based on a colour which appears on my monitor - it might be totally different in reality - but both look too brown to my eyes. There's a definite green tinge to the HDPE on the original helmets. Admittedly, this is all viewed on my computer screen and not in person but I think a more greyish-khaki might be closer. Having said that, I've recently been trying out paintwork on a helmet I built and in the end I just used beige universal primer to mimic the HDPE and it looks OK on the small areas which are supposed to represent the paint chips. Product:
  4. A whole month later, I've discovered this question! Sorry mate. And, yeah, a good rub down with acetone to get any coating and dirt off the leather and leave it nice and roughed up and absorbent.
  5. I hope you receive your armour or your refund soon and I hope we will be hearing more positive feedback about AP's relability soon too.
  6. Lautet eine davon zufällig "Großschreibung verwenden - selbst in Internetforen"?
  7. Frohes neues! Ich wünsche allen ein glückliches, erfolgreiches Jahr 2011.
  8. Thanks for all your hard work and input, Paul.
  9. That was beautiful, Mike! Thanks for sharing.
  10. While we're on the subject, anyone have any idea why the primer failed so badly? That white paint fell off in chunks and took the primer with it, right down to the bare plastic.
  11. Yep! ----------
  12. Ha ha ha You beat me to it!
  13. Good luck, Mike. You have been a reliable supplier of the smaller items. It will be very interesting to see this project develop.
  14. Ho'omaika'i 'ana!
  15. Love it! Cheers, mate! One of the most satisfying things about seeing that shot of me in armour is the way the chest is crumpled on my right-hand side. That is exactly what I keep going on about when I say this thin material "behaves" exactly like the originals. Looks just like the original trooper on my right (except he's split his armour )
  16. Fortunately, this is not entirely true. Ever since I've been on these boards, there's been one bloke on here - "burningswordsith" I think he's called, something like that - with a friendly warning in his signature. Add to that his absence from the list of recommended armour sellers and general discussions within the community, and I have never ever once been tempted, believe me! I reckon a few troopers have been saved from parting with their hard-earned cash.
  17. That bloke must have big windows ... he certainly saw you coming! Really am sorry you got taken for a ride, mate. Obviously you agreed a price and all that and noone forced you blah, blah ... but he obviously identified you as someone with less experience and tried it on.
  18. Nice Rickenbacker, Dan!
  19. You haven't seen the photo of me flat on my back a split second later then?
  20. I didn't have to mod the legs at all on either of my TMs. Just made sure that the thighs are held nice and high on the belt and I can move really well.
  21. Stunning, Rolf! You get your sandy weathering to just the right level of dirtiness. You've even got me checking out the MEPD and the sandy CRL. Whilst you're doing a TK in 2011, my next one might even be a sandy!
  22. AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!! Leia gets her revenge ...
  23. I'm flattered, Pat. Here's a link to the original picture in the original size ... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v720/ricvic/Stormtroopers/TK%20building/TM%201mm%20build%202010/DSCF0701.jpg
