  1. Thanks!

Does the ATA equal MOT? Cause I have been hearing bad things about them. Also, how accurate is it? Is it good quality and what is the material and thickness? Oh and of course: is it 501st approved? ;)

no it is not MOT, and it is very nice in my opinion, i have one and plan on getting a second one ;) it is HIPS not ABS so it needs to be painted.

remember to look here, if its on this list it is 501st approved

and do a lot of research before you buy anything

  2. welcome aboard , i would recommend an ATA kit, it is affordable and a fun kit to put together and paint ;) it is made in the US so i dont know if it will work for you.. but it should fit your budget and keep you busy for a bit :)

  3. 1st: Congrats! Awesome armor you have there! :duim: > THANKS!

2nd: Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't have a TKID yet, right? I need a TKID for your EIB profile pic. (Unless Terrell agree to put your EIB pic without TKID.)

    >i am approved 501st but still waiting for my TKID

3rd: Fifth picture from top is OK for the profile pic? The helmet is fully visible and will fit in the frame.

    > OK, anything is fine ;)

4th: Say hi to Brian Fong if you see him! :) will do (but he is quite far from my location)

    Cheers.

BTW: I liked the pics with your son on it! ty lol

  4. i did all i could to keep my son out of the shots... but he got into a few. i did all these shots solo by a timer, least to say it was no easy task.. try working a camera with rubber gloves lol, i had to hit buttons with a pencil :P

Hey Mason - when you can could you possibly take one side ways against the full plastic sheet? I'd like to use this for the Incinerator CRL when the time comes. Pretty exciting - can't wait to see the full suit too. :)

That free gold coin for the first Incinerator Trooper Expert Infantryman is still up for grabs ;-)

i made up these pics LMK if there ok

  6. don't give up!! if a particular part of the build is giving you problems dont be afraid to ask for help, remember "there is more than one way to skin a cat". perhaps with the with the wealth knowlage here you could find a solution that works for you.

Confucius says "It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop." :D

  7. Thanks ^^

The thermal detonator is on the way for being painted.

Validation pics this week end :P

i should have your flamethrower just about done by this weekend ;) my new bandsaw has helped a lot so i am able to build a bit faster, also i think this next one will weigh considerably less than my first one

ille get pics up for you in a few days :D

    good luck on your validation

  8. ive been thinking of this for a few years, but its kinda silly... i would like to scratchbuild a full scale Millenium Falcon that doubles as a lake house/camp. it would have a jacuzzi, bar, and tons of high tech gadgets, video games, awesome guitars... basically a man cave to end all man caves ;)

ive been planning this in my head for years but alas it will most likely never happen <_<

  9. i use a mix of vinegar and 20 Mule Team Borax or (sodium borate) for all mildew problems. it also prevents it from coming back ;) i had a bunch of my artists canvases mildew in my cellar, so i know it works well on canvas without changing the color like bleach

also just plain vinegar works ok, but the sodium borate prevents the mold from returning

here is the recipe i use

    ----------

  10. great job on the pauldron ! :D

the only problem you may have is the glue will not bond to the painted surfaces unless you remove all paint and primer from the areas you are gluing, if i were you i would trim all the parts then remove "ALL" of the paint from the seams/joints and re sand the areas before gluing. and paint all parts after it is fully assembled

trust me.. if you dont your armor will fall apart as soon as you try to wear it ;) the glue will bond to the paint not the plastic
