  1. me 2... so how do we fix it?
  2. yeah.. im in the process of taking off the paint on my frown, and will be repainting it... OOPS!! yes i need to add my ear pieces!!! thanks for the reminder!!!
  3. Thanks to John, TK 1446, for the inspiration, as well as Skullworks, and Puget sound, i've decided not to purchase that "other" sound system, and have some fun building my own. I've assembled the pieces, and will be working on it this week. I'm a teacher, and have February vacation this week, so i "should' have plenty of time to devote to working on this project. Here are some pics of the pieces i've got: (Warning: some of my terminology may be a bit technical!) Radio Shack Amp/Speaker Radio Shack Microphone 2 computer fans 2 switches 2 9V battery attachments 2 solder-able microphone plugs some wire 5 feet of wire tubing 2 Hovi-Speaker Mic Tips (not pictured - they're already on my bucket, but i threw the old mic tips in the picture for posterity) Once I get "some" progress made, i'll post more pics here. Wish me luck!!!
  4. I just uploaded pics of the progress i've made to my armor. see the link below: http://www.webbacowet.org/armor.htm any and all comments will be accepted! email me, or send me a PM. I'm as green as they come, so please, let me know how i can improve my armor! I purhcased an FX kit (i know, i know, i should've gone with something better, but thats all i can afford at this point!) last November, and have been slowly assembling it since then. My overall plan is to purchase some better armor (most likely TE2), and convert this FX into a Sandy! (or sell it to my brother who looks like he would be interested in the 501st!)
  5. i agree... ive become such a non-fan of velcro.. i try to use as little of it as possible... i assembled my suit following the directions, with velcro everywhere. when i put it on for the first time, there was so much noise of the velcro coming apart, and back together again... since then i've been planning and scheeming how to remove as much of the velcro as possible, while still allowing my armor to stay assembled!
  6. Just wondering what other people have done with their thigh and shin pieces? for my shins, ive glued them together on the front seam, and use velcro on the rear seam. that way i can open them up a little, and clamshell them around my legs.. ive done the same with the thighs, but since they are smaller at the bottem (knee) and larger at the top (waist) i was thinking about gluing both the front and rear seams... that way i can just slide them up like a pair of pants... any thoughts?
  7. gotta get my armor up to 501 standards first (so i can have my membership accepted!) but, don't worry... elite status requirements are in the back of my mind! i'll be there before the end of the year.. i want to be on of the 100!
  8. ...bump... the link to the poll wasn't active anymore.. so what was the result of the voting? (just curious)... didn't know if this was going to be another can of worms opening, or something more like pandora's box...
  9. sweet... i can imagine it now.. playing "imperial march" out of aerators in the middle of a parade
  10. i paid $50 for some hovi mic tips w/speakers... then saw the ones with the caps, and was like "oh man! wish i saw those first!!!" hmm... could be intersting...
  11. looks super! whats the next project???
  12. Looking to invenst in boots from Caboots... my shoes are 10.5, but was thinking of getting my boots at a size 11, so i have a little extra room... ive heard stories about how good looking, yet uncomfortable the Caboots boots are.. i was thinking of getting some inserts for cushioning... any thoughts from the more veteran guys?? ~Gordon p.s. this is the last piece of my armor i have to do before i officially apply to the 501st!
  13. looks like a great system for those do-it-youself-ers who want an alternative to that "other" system! i'll be starting on mine sometime this week! thanks for a great tutorial for a head start! ~Gordon future TK
  14. for the record... the pats didnt lose because the giants were a better team... they lost cuz they just didnt play a good game.. they've been playing well all season, and just couldn't get anything going in the super bowl... it would've been nice to finish 19-0, and have people like Junior Seau and Randy Moss get their first super bowl ring, but this just sets it up for next year... much like the end of the movie "Friday Night Lights"... i think the irony is sorta fitting... either way if you're a pats fan (like me), or a giants fan, you'll have to admit it was still a VERY exciting game to watch... much better than a 52-7 blowout... it kept me on the edge of MY seat for most of the night!
  15. groups? ive played 1 and 2 for ps2 and don't recall anything about groups? are you talking about online play?
  16. Okay, so I got a set of FX armor, and have been slowly putting it together. Still working on boots and gloves, but thats another story for another day. As for the bucket. It seems a little big compared to the shoulders and chestplate. I placed the headband at an appropriate place so I can see out of the eye holes. This causes the helmet to hit the chest plate when i try to turn my head, and, thus, I can't turn my head very much, and have limited visibility (even more limited than just the size of the eye holes!) Is this normal for an FX bucket? Is there a smaller bucket I can invest in? (once i assemble the appropriate funds..) I see youtube videos and whatnot with troopers, and they have much more flexability in how to turn their head. I dunno, maybe i just have a short neck/ wierd head . Let me know your thoughts! Thanks for all the advice from experienced troopers! Gordon "Naglium" (Future TK)
  17. Looking to create my own electrical system for my bucket, much like the Skullworx product. Wiring, battery, switches, fans.. those are easy... Anyone have any advice on where to go / what to do for a sound system and speakers? Send me a PM if you have any good advice / ideas!!!
