  1. I used a bead of Plastic weld around the contacting edge, and E6000 in the "inside" to secure it. I've done this on 2 suits now with no problems. And you are correct, for EIB you should glue them on if possible but I believe velcro is acceptable - but not rivets.
  2. I forgot about him! Agreed. Not only does he offer them as a service, but he posted a tutorial on how to make them yourself if you wanted to. The ultimate in sharing knowledge and helping those that might not have the supplies / skill to make them.
  3. Steve, I think you have far too many kits on hand, and you should just give some of them to me for safe keeping. Glad to see you finally got your purchases! Looking forward to seeing you get your Legion ID!
  4. I would suggest: - Stukatrooper as he's very much a pioneer along with Mark FBJ on a lot of build techniques - Jim / TK6294 as he's sold a lot of amps to a lot of happy troopers. - Pablo / TKdueno and his blaster / armor build - I think Woodchuck would be an interesting guy, due to his craft and creative use of materials
  5. The Sandtrooper scenes, and the Luke and Han in disguise sequence.
  6. You can get them for $15
  7. Hello fellow troopers. I’m going to be trooping at a local “Relay for Life” event in Canada on June 6th. This community walk raises money for the Canadian cancer Society, and this will be the first year that I will troop the event in costume. My mom passed away in 2004 from cancer, so this event has a very special place for me and my family. We have attended every year since 2004. If you want to sponsor me and contribute to a great cause, feel free to make a donation here: ------ Every little bit helps! Thanks troopers!
  8. Very well deserved, congratulations! Your hard work and dedication is admired by all, and you've greatly influenced myself and many others. Thank you for your great insight and contributions!
  9. I'll post up pictures of my latest TD clip. Mine is a "closed loop" design that you slide on and off your belt. i was tired of mine coming off all the time, so I made my own clips out of ABS. It would be cool if they were aluminum.
  10. Very nice pics Eric! The photos turned out great! Bill, I believe the armor is AM (updated version of FX) and the helmet is an... AP I'm guessing?
  11. Hope you had a great birthday, Paul!
  12. Try using self etching primer, it usually has a stronger bond. make sure to sand PVC or ABS before painting and clean it as well. I'll be painting my ABS pipe blaster soon, so i will report the performance of paint adhesion.
  13. Yes, good point on the sanding details. I just do enough to give some "tooth" to the resin as I find the Doopys parts a bit glossy in finish. You can use E6000 on resin, just sand and spread the E6000 on both parts, let it set a bit, then join the parts and clamp.
  14. I pretty much do the same thing. I sand with 400 grit, then assemble using CA glue or E6000 and screws / pinning. Wash with dish detergent, rinse with water & hang to dry. Never use a towel as they can leave lint. 2 coats of primer, then 2 undercoats of silver or bronze / gold, then top coat with satin black, then weathering. Always go with light coats in multiple passes rather than 1 heavy coat.
  15. Nice work, I'm building a pipe kit too! Your build turned out great. I'll probably reference this build on the academy site too!
  16. Thanks guys! Your support and help contributes greatly as well. I learn new stuff every day from all the great troopers here. Troopers helping troopers!
  17. Looking very nice! You're far more dedicated than I am in terms of masking those vents / traps. I just brush paint them for that "hurry these to the set" look. Are you going to use the AP hand plates or the flexible ones?
  18. Shipping it as "paintball accessories" helps.
  19. Ditto. I use TK6294's AKER amp, and it's mounted via industrial velcro on the inside of the chest plate. Mic cord runs from the ear mounted mic, through the neckseal, under the bib, and plugs into the amp.
  20. Sounds awesome! I'll be glad to be your first customer! (assuming it can be shipped to Canada!)
  21. Will the tubes be cut / pre-drilled? If so, sign me up! My PVC blaster will be a second trooping one, but I'd love to make an aluminum tube one later down the road. That was always the plan, to make an "all metal" one. Let me know if you have any updates!
  22. That's a great site! Thanks the link. It's cool guys, I've already started cutting up my 1.25" ABS, looks like it will work. Stay tuned for a PVC pipe blaster kit tutorial!
  23. Good idea, but I think they will be quite flimsy after all the barrel holes are drilled as they are really thin.
