  1. While they usually show concept images in cooperation with existing armor-makers, the TK shown is indeed the prototype. As always, it may vary slightly from the final product, but this should be fairly close.
  2. I am told there will be extra ABS for shims. If not, it's not difficult to source.
  3. Some people at the convention did that. You can try emailing support@anovos.com to see if they will help you out there, but it may have just been a con floor exclusive deal.
  4. The answer is that they are not 100% sure until the final product is shipping. That said, they are releasing only completed helmets which would imply that little or no work is involved. If there is work, it will likely be decals vs requiring hand-painting. (Unless you want the hand-painted look, in which case you'd have to remove decals.)
  5. Yes, I heard they plan on offering Tiered pricing when re-releasing in new territories.
  6. Not sure what you are talking about. See you all at SWCA!
  7. They will in time. It's all business stuff they need to square away or else they'd obviously sell worldwide.
  8. Correct, due to current licensing, no boots or blaster for now. Not sure on the lining...perhaps some kind of mesh for a finished look? I have not seen pics, but the strapping/fastening system is supposed to be a new type of underarmor that also includes attachment points to secure the armor pieces.
  9. Combination of both. The ANOVOS panel at Celebration Anaheim may explain it in more detail, but there's 3D scanning, manipulation and then output to create new molds. These are idealized for wearability and aesthetics vs. "exact replicas."
  10. Just confirmed. The images shown are indeed ANOVOS original prototype pics, not someone else's work.
  11. I paid $400 13 years ago for an old FX kit. That initial price is crazy low considering it includes neck seal, gloves, fabric belt, undersuit and completed helmet---none of which came with my original kit. If you have questions, I'll see what I can find out!
  12. This is wonderful and I'd love to share this story on the 501st Facebook page once final photos are posted. Well done, troopers. Felix, what's your Legion ID #?
  13. I'm working on a Ladies of the Legion panel for Star Wars Celebration VI. Is there anyone who thinks they'll have a Jes costume completed and possibly Legion-approved by August?
  14. Thanks for the feedback. I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised at the overwhelming positive support for this Rubies conversion. This is an applicant in a fledgling 501st Outpost that really needs growth, but I didn't want to approve a costume "just because" they needed another member. Sounds like the efforts put into modifying this suit are respected by FISD so I'm going to pursue, with the LMO's approval, getting this member accepted with the caveat that he replace the boots, raise the chest and "tighten up" the calves and forearms a bit more within the next year. I think that sounds like a fair compromise to improving the quality of the suit as far as "Legion standards" and also being inclusive enough to allow the 501st to grow in this region of the world. Thank you all so much for the valuable feedback. Troop on!
  15. With the LMO's advice, I am posting these pics for feedback on a 501st TK applicant. Here are the mods he made to the Rubies Supreme Stormtrooper: Bear in mind that this suit's origins are supposedly linked to the ROTJ suits, which many of us find somewhat ugly since we normally are exposed to the more idealized FX or tighter-fitting ANH suits. Here's a link to Studio Creations nice reference shots of the Magic of Myth ROTJ suit: http://www.studiocreations.com/howto/motm_...asurements.html The question I'm seeking an answer to is whether or not the Rubies armor can be modified enough for 501st eligibility. Be kind and constructive with your criticism please. Thanks!
  16. Pawel's work of wonder is now featured on the 501stCast episode 16: www.501st.com/podcast Nice work!
  17. That was the Don Post statue, not wearable armor. -------------
  18. That's great! Thanks for posting. And wow, Emerald City Comics is right down the street from where I used to live in Florida.
  19. Still hoping for photos to confirm the statement from Peter Diamond that there were some women in armor during production.
  20. That lens gasket looks very polished, but way too complicated for me! I'm currently doing this: ----------- I can swap out a lens in seconds for replacement or cleaning. ----------
  21. Thanks for the real story John (I heard the rumors at CIV) but sorry you had to go through this. I would have been furious.
  22. While not exact, the molding on certain parts can be easily simulated by white car door molding so I would think that's something that could be required for ROTJ armor. http://www.customautotrim.com/products/moldings/door.htm ----------
  23. I believe there are some logo changes requested by the Legion Council as a condition of the approval of this Detachment. Addition of "501st Legion" etc.
  24. Posted on the 501st.com news feed and home page. http://www.501st.com/index.php Congrats!
