  2. Could not be more true!!! Sanded last night, realized I missed a spot with spot putty, so now I have to re-sand that spot so that all of the spots are covered. No spots left uncovered!!

  5. Hi Larry, and thank you for your patience while we looked over your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. You have done a great job completing the requested modifications. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Helmet The angle of your ears is a bit too straight up and down. Ideally, the line of the screws should follow the back of the trap above the ear. As different helmet manufacturers vary the shape and position of the ears, it may not be possible to get this exactly as was seen on screen. This is merely a recommendation if you are looking to be more screen accurate. References Thermal Detonator When dressing, please ensure that the thermal detonator is pushed all the way down on the belt. Yours appears to be sitting a bit high on the photos. References Shin Armour Please take care when dressing that your shin armour is properly closed in the back so that no velcro is showing. References *************************************************** Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval. Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Shoulder Armour For centurion approval, we would like to see your shoulder bells brought in a bit closer to your shoulder straps to minimize the gap. This can be achieved by shortening the strapping securing the shoulder bells. CRL L3: There should be a minimal gap between the shoulder armor and the chest/back plates. References Forearms We will need a few minutes of sanding work on one of your forearms where there is still a little bit of return edge. CRL L3: No return edge on the inside of the front of the forearm is allowed. References It also appears that your forarms are a bit too large. For level 3 approval, we would like to see the size reduced slightly to give a more fitted look to the armour. References Hand Plates For level 3 approval, you will need to switch to latex or silicone hand plates and secure them without an elastic. CRL L3: Hand guards shall be latex or latex-like, solid white or painted white, and affixed to rubber gloves with no visible strapping or stitching. References Abdomen Armour Unfortunately, you trimmed your large ab plate base off, there should be a flat square plate under the raised rounded one. Also, your small ab plate could be trimmed down slightly. CRL L3: Plate does not overlap the edges of this area and shall show a definite straight cut edge around all sides. References If adding shims to the gap between the abdominal plate and kidney plate, please ensure that the gap is reduced to nothing for centurion approval. CRL L3: Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top. References Belt Your right belt box is position perfectly but the left one will need to come back a touch. A drop of E-6000 between the elastic and the back of the canvas belt can help to keep the boxes positioned correctly. CRL L3: Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box References We will also need you to trim a bit of the hard plastic ammo belt to correctly align the edge of the 45 degree angles with the edge of the canvas belt. CRL L3: The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt. References Thighs It looks like you have some backing in the gap at the bottom of the right thigh but it is not visible on the left one. Please ensure thath if you are applying for centurion approval, these gaps are filled. CRL L3: Lower thigh ridge joins (front and rear) shall butt-up flush against each other. Any gaps must be backed with ABS or filled as not to be noticeable References
