Hello there Back in 2021 I was indeed working on that picture but the result made me trash it. Why telling that now? My helmets are kept in a display case at home and I've always liked the idea to place matching action figures next to each one. But of course there is none for this specific character. So why not using the opportunity to build it?! You can get incredibly detailed 3D resin-printed items on the internet. Okay, let’s try this. Among other figures, I also needed a TIE Pilot, a Sandtrooper and a Stormtrooper, so I grabbed the ‚Entertainment Earth Star Wars Black Series Imperial Forces 4 Pack’. These figures are 6 inch tall (15 cm). Big enough for the details, small enough to fit beside the helmets. To get started, I first corrected the paint and weathering on the TIE Pilot helmet to match the prop from RS. The Sandtrooper then received a more accurate weathering, orange paint on the pauldron and a 3D replacement helmet. I painted this to mimic the ‚move along‘ prop. Years ago, I didn’t have a clear vision of the helmet’s color concept. It rather evolved into the final design, step by step. It’s the same now with the armor. I only have a rough idea, but it seemed logical to use the same color on both, helmet and armor. Yes, the joints can still be spotted. But no worries, there will follow some distractions later. The first challenge is to replicate all the details on the helmet in such a tiny scale. This will be tackled in the next update...2 points

You have to be careful using other vendors plastic as there can be a BIG difference in color/shades, from stark white to murky cream. If you can't trim straight try using some sandpaper wrapped around some wood. I use a sanding block for nice straight lines, works the same for coverstrips1 point

Just a couple of things. We try not to have too much of a gap between the coverstrips and ridge on the armor. General coverstrip widths Bicep 15mm Forearm 15mm Thigh 20mm Shin Front 20mm rear 25mm However you can use bigger coverstrips if you need them, we do try to look standard from the front and add larger on the rear, the public don't see as much from the rear. Score and snap method works best for cutting cover strips, yours is a bit wobbly You only need to take the corners off so they don't catch, the left one is very rounded Some you can cut on an angle depending on overhang or stepped armor1 point

Hi again. For level 1, it would be up to your GML. For level 2, we would want to see a better fit.1 point

Welcome Vasco, you have come to the right place to begin your journey. Here is a great resource to get you started. Take the time to do your research, it will pay off in the end.1 point

A couple of things you may want to address If you are going stunt you will need a little more paint on the ends of the teeth. Remove paint from gums White rim on hovi tips/rim Vocoder needs some cleaning up Remove bump at front of brow trim Tube stripes, remove and replace, look to be on an angle at the back Ideally Stunt has 4 ear bumps not 3 (double check with your GML to see if approvable for basic some are stricter than others) Here are some great threads, I encourage you to have a good read through them, ears are the worst and do take a considerable amount of time and care to get right, adding a step also helps them to sit a little flusher.1 point

It really depends on your GML (garrison membership liaison) and also the LMO's (legion membership officers) both take part in the process. Locally our approvals are from 1 day to 1 week so I would definitely get in touch with your local command and request guidance. If you don't hear from your GML I would contact the GCO (garrison commanding officer)1 point

Ok, I think this might be working now lol. But here are my pics 1. Trimming progress coming along 2. Scrap that I am keeping 3. Full parts from FarAway Creations/MonCalProp Shop Came as ANH Hero kit but I think I am only interesting in level 1 approval so willing to change up the helmet from bubble Going to finish trimming everything and leave helmet for last. Have some small files to work with there Then I have to cut out all of the cover strips and start glueing!1 point

Staying in character while in armor has always interested me. After watching videos of the Stormtroopers at Disney's Galaxy's Edge, I decided to start compiling an array of sayings and responses for different scenarios and I would like to share them with you! SPECIFIC RESPONSES: Citizen: Can I get a picture with you!? Stormtrooper: Affirmative. Proceed with holoscan. Citizen: Thank you! Stormtrooper: All for the glory of the Empire/First Order! Citizen: Your armor is awesome! Stormtrooper: It's made to Imperial specifications. Citizen: How long did it take you to make that? Stormtrooper: About ____ standard months. Citizen: (Waves hand) You don't need to see my identification, or These aren't the droids you're looking for. Stormtrooper: This must not be the Jedi we're looking for. PUBLIC INTERACTION If you see members of the public staring at you in awe or excitement: The Empire/First Order recognizes your loyalty! Your allegiance is noted. The Rebels/Resistance will fall under the might of the Empire/First Order! Careful Citizens! Rebel activity has been reported in this sector! If you see a child dressed as Darth Vader, or Kylo Ren. (Salute them) Lord Vader/Ren! If you see someone with a lightsaber: That's a lightsaber! We'll assume you're a collector. ONLY a collector. CONVERSATIONS WITH OTHER TROOPERS: Stormtrooper#1: I could sure go for a cup of caf right now! Stormtrooper#2: Affirmative! Stormtrooper#1: I heard that Lord Vader/Ren might be making an appearance today! Stormtrooper#2 That seems unlikely. Stormtrooper#1: Have you heard about the new T-16's? Stormtrooper#2: Yeah, some of the other guys were telling me about it! They said it was quite a thing to see! ANNOUNCEMENTS: Stormtrooper: Citizens! We have been ordered to re-position, and are vacating these premises! Stormtrooper: Rebel activity has been reported in this area! If you see anything, then report it immediately! Remember to use discretion when interacting with the public. If they seem annoyed, or disinterested, then then don't continue to harass them. And If a child seems frightened of you, then break character and try to sound cheerful. Maybe even lift up your bucket, so they can see it's a real person under there! I'll update this with more phrases and responses as I come up with them. Feel free to post any of your own ideas!1 point
