  1. I did it! I ordered my first TK kit. So this is my build thread! I have taken on another build at the same time, so I'll keep y'all briefly updated on that progress too. That's my real life TK build-- currently going well, 11weeks in-- I went with AP, due to my short stature. And Mark of AP was wonderful about reassuring me that the armor was going to fit my chubbiness. Of course I won't be able to do some of the major fitting until after October. But, I think there will be lots of other projects I can work on. So I've made my list-- Armor -- AP Helmet-- AP Undersuit-- will go to Academy Sports Canvas Belt-- AP Holster-- AP (anyone know if this has to be modified for Centurion?) E-11 Blaster-- thinking TrooperBay. Currently researching what mods required for Centurion, if any. Boots-- wanted Imperial Boots but site is down for April, so may go with TK Boots Gloves-- will order NoMex for trooping, have some rubber coming from AP but afraid I'll have to shop local for something to fit my tiny hands Latex Handguards-- AP Neck Seal-- thinking Darmen Supplies/Tools-- using a compilation of Justjoseph63 and NebSgrid's supply lists. Thinking the whole family is going to make a supply shopping trip today. Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Sunday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some rivets, maybe get a Dremel, stuff like that. Maybe Joanne's, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time. ("Old School" Will Ferrell reference...) Current state of "Overwhelmed"-- 8/10 Current state of Nausea -- 7/10 Current state of Excitement -- 10/10 Can't wait for BBB Day!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  2. Thanks guys. These are the points that I had made to someone who had tried to tell me it would have to be approvable by y'all lol. Made me giggle. I know better than to cheap out and have to buy twice, and I'd love to spend the money on a good set and only buy once. Thanks again:)

  3. You might want to take some photos of each step, Sean. This way you could post them in a thread along with an explanation of how you are doing it. This would be really helpful to those in the same boat.

  4. The Novus system is great, and will serve you well in the future for small jobs but it may not get out that deep of a scratch. As mentioned, the wet sanding will probably be your best bet and then follow that up with the car compound.

  5. Hi Jared, thank you for your EIB application. Let's see what we have!! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos posted. Nice application and great pics! Thank you. Your armor demonstrates all the necessary elements required for EIB. With that I both congratulate and welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section, we review suggestions made by your fellow troopers and our own observations. All go towards improving the final look of your armor. If there is anything that would affect a future Centurion application it will be mentioned in that section at the bottom. What a beautiful build with great attention to detail, you are to be commended Sir well done Centurion Suggestions: The ultimate accuracy of Centurion is up to the applicant, in this section we do our best to prepare you for the road to Level 3. It is very apparent that from the beginning you were aiming for Centurion. It was obvious from the beginning, you were aiming for Centurion and with one tiny modification and one finishing touch, Centurion will be yours. Both of these will take you mere moments to address so here they are. As per Level 3 CRL For level three certification (if applicable): Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. Maybe some adhesive Velcro or a small dab of glue will secure the straps in place so they always sit perfectly aligned at the ends of the plastic ammo belt. Reference image This one is simply for accuracy sake, and with armor that looks as good as yours does, it would be a shame not to paint these screw heads black as they were in the film. Reference image Well Jared, that's all she wrote. Excellent build, fantastic photos and your Garrison should be very proud to march along side of you, I know i would be. Congratulations Trooper, see you in Centurion review.

  6. wetsand using 1000 grit, then finish off with 1500 grit, dont' be alarmed if plastic becomes dull its normal then use any car compound scratch/swirl remover or novus plastic polish to restore shine. Mark (AP)

  12. Thanks guys for the great input! I was afraid I was splitting hairs, since this is my first build. I think I can make everything work well with 20 mm strips on both sides of forearms and biceps to keep everything uniform. Dan.......I recently completed building an airplane in my home workshop. I have a ton of space, tools, tables, etc. What better use that building a TK armor set! Thanks again! I'll post the mocked up arms tonight. Sean

  13. Congrats, enjoy the build process (both of them). Walt's Trooper Factory has kid's mini-TK armor for the second set but it may be a while before it would fit.
