kevster[TK] Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 ( IN PROGRESS ) Just started my scratch build. One of the hardest things to find was the funnel, but I ended up getting the exact one in the scope tutorial http://www.tk560.com/jegner/M19-scope-tutorial.pdf from O'Reilly's auto, its a blitz brand funnel just in case anyone finds this thread looking for the same funnel. Also I came across the problem of the PVC blaster builder pages coming out really weird as well and found through a search people had the same problem, so if the templates arn't right the problem is they MUST NOT be printed to "fit page" if they are, it takes smaller templates and blows them up to fill out the page more. So here is what i got so far. Quote
Hogan Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 You're off to a great start. I think I ruined 5 or 6 pieces of PVC while I was drilling out the holes. I'm looking forward to more pictures. Rick Quote
andy19422 Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 You're off to a great start. I think I ruined 5 or 6 pieces of PVC while I was drilling out the holes. I'm looking forward to more pictures. Rick I remember my fist attempt at doing the tube, had the slot and the ejection port done and only four holes left to drill. The drill caught pulling the tube from the vice and then drilled through the other side. In the bin went an hours work and i went down the pub <_< Quote
TK-2126_MD[TK] Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 Congrats!!!! going 100% scratchy is the way to go!!!!!! it looks awesome. the metal piece u cut or will cut really make the final piece look awesome, and bondo is and will be a good friend, be sure to play around with it a littl ( welll ventilladed area and mask speciallyfor the sanding ( toxic stuff) ) before u actually stick it on the weapon remember to sand everything 400 grit or higher, paint sand again paint sand a latst time and finally do the paint and use the latex mask off paint for the weathering. good stuff scratchy is the way to go. and dont be scared to make more then one, my first one came out good but the second one was the keeper!!! sskunky Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 I'm building a scratch too but out of aluminium. I managed to buy a receiver tube with holes already drilled so I didn't have that head ache it's the rest of it I'm finding quite hard. Cutting all the parts out of ali isn't easyand the bending is difficult too. Yours is looking a good start. I'll keep checking in for updates. Quote
kevster[TK] Posted November 12, 2009 Author Report Posted November 12, 2009 For the mag, I decided to make it out of wood because trying to make the grooves in the bent metal would just be a little too difficult. But i was wondering where to get the grip texture for the handle, any suggestions? and also where can i get some bondo? Quote
darren1970[501st] Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 Looking good Kev, Ive made a few blasters ( E-11 and DC-15 clone blasters ). You're doing well bro. Any kind of automotive car body filler would do for filling gaps on the blaster. Keep up the good work. Darren Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 You can get resin parts for the Grips... or you can even purchase a real trigger group and assembly. if you would like to have more information on just where to get original starling parts for the MK4... then I can help. PM me for all the details. in the real sterling there is a hollow handle "of sorts" in the grips. a hex head bolt holds the grips on from the bottom. I can show you where to get replica, and real parts. actually the receiver tube using PVC pipe is about 3-5 mm too large... and it's enough of a different size to need a larger holster cut. The best way to make an accurate receiver tube would be out of metal. for example Doopy Doos . com has "PVC blaster finishing kits" that type of blaster finishing kit comes with everything you'd need to accurately finish up a e-11 blaster except for the scope rail, and the hengstler counter. regards, vern Quote
