  1. I make Stargate props, The chevron has LED lighting, so you can change from SG1 or Atlantis and Stargate Universe wall lights. I am also building a 9' high gate section to put in my living room using casts taken from my Stargate movie section.
  2. Hi Andy, I think you will have a lot of trouble in proving someone has copied your templates. If I gave ten people who knew what they were doing a compass, ruler and lots of photos and also the measurements of the capacitors nine of the designs would be almost identical. I think your work on the computer enhancements have been fantastic but in the end this is a very simple prop to copy, It's just a case of how well someone does it. I decided not to proceed with them because you are doing a run and also my spare cash, and my wifes is tied up with my Stargate projects. I am looking forward to seeing your cylinders finished and will give you a call soon.
  3. I'll take a set Matt if you still have some, I am looking at getting these copied and offering complete cylinder sets like the russ ones but more accerate, all laser cut and machined. A company has got the plans at the moment, just waiting for a quote.
  4. Thanks Mark, I'll give that a go, cheers
  5. Hi guys, I am makeing a non Star Wars related prop from HIPS and I need to know the best glue to use. The prop is made from two vacuune formed shells that fit inside each other. The inner is 1mm and the outer is 1.5. I will be using magnets to hold it together till it sets. I tried useing Revell modle kit glue but it softened the HIPS a bit.
  6. I will chase up some of my old contacts to see if they know what the K is
  7. I think I have found the K on the capacitors TCC also were called melalpack and picopack. I have a couple of picopack coming that look about the right size so I will see if the writing matches up
  8. Hi Andy, yes looking at them again there is thee capacitors in all the pics but it looks like the end ones are made up of a set of two long ones and one short one. these are shown in the mouse and landspeeder photos so I don't think these are just bent. Maybe the smaller ones have a different rating.
  9. yes that's who I got them from, I looked on ebay last week and couldn't find any
  10. Here is a pic of the latch. Just get a small screwdriver or knife and lift up and pull the socket at the same time, you only need to lift it up by a couple of mm Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  11. I received two counters today, both old versions. One has the large eagle and only one screw hole and the other has no logo at all. The one with the eagle also has a metal socket, but it's not brass like others I've seen It's more like a Gray alloy of some kind. If anyone has an eagle with the two screws and a metal socket they would think of selling let me know. Cheers By andy19422 at 2011-02-12 By andy19422 at 2011-02-12
  12. I said he started his company in the late 70's not that was when he viewed the guns
  13. His shop is on the South coast of England, and i have no reason to doubt the story, hopefully I'm going to a big militaria show at the end of the month, and i'll speak more to him
  14. Hi guys, firstly a happy new year to you all. I thought I would finally get round to telling you a story i heard in the summer. I had to collect a bag of Sterlings from a gun shop a couple of hours drive away, the shop was filled with de-act guns as well as a few live ones. I got talking to the owner, a very nice bloke, and found out that he was one of the first dealers to specialize in deactivated weapons which was in the late 70's. The talk finally got on to the Sterings and the Star Wars connection, and then he amazed me with this story. He told me he was called up by the studio to see if he wanted to buy some guns they no longer needed. When he got there he was shown a crate of Sterlings, but on inspection he found they were made with alloy cast parts so refused to buy them These blasters must have been from ROTJ, he also told me that his Friend picked one up and still has it in a cupboard. Maybe I'LL try and ask if i can get some pics of it. Out of interest how much dos an original screen used ROTJ blaster go for these days.
  15. Thanks Vern I'm currently working on a very special custom blaster using one of my Sterlings. I'm sure some people will have some strong views about it Also making a special display case for it, so stay tuned

  19. Hi guys, I'm getting married next Saturday. We are having the reception back at our house. As usual what was supposed to be a party with a few Friends has turned in to a crowd with about twenty kids I was wondering if any troopers on the Island could stop by for a few photos with the kids, my stepson is a huge Star Wars fan. I'll gladly pay a fee or a charity donation and there will be plenty to eat and drink!! Cheers
  20. The photo is a Sterling factory photo to illustrate that the gun had no appreciable recoil. the two women are Mrs Tyrell (in white), a machine shop operator and Miss Jesse Butts, a member of the office staff. The Sterling in the picture is an early MK III Police Carbine that were made in semi-auto only so they could be sold to approved civilians and police forces worldwide. They only made the first 17 guns with the rounded foresight protectors which were a car Uploaded with ImageShack.usry over from the MKII. Here is a pic of my MK II so you can see a closeup of the front sight.
