Darth_Finger
Thanks Darren. It was a lot of work. There was a few that I messed up on and had to redo. Its good to give it a nice wax job when its all done.
Darth_Finger
Ok, I have been slowly working on this. So close but still far away Ā This glue rocks Ā Started glueing the strips on. Got the arms done, almost done with the legs. Ā Ā Once I got them glued I taped them up to hold it in place. Ā I was just messing around with some different blue paints on a ear I messed up on.
TK-7980
The top right blue looks pretty good. I didn't have any others available for me so I went with one closer to the top left blue.
Darth_Finger
I think the top one was Testors Ford GM light blue, to the left is Testors Ford GM blue, then Testors reg blue and Testors dark blue. I went with the Ford GM light blue. I will get some more pics of that later on.

TrooperTim
So close but still far away Man, that's so ridiculously true.Ā Great build so far. E6000 is indeed an awesome substance. As far as the blue, I went with Testors Dark Blue. It's not screen accurate but looks fairly close.
Darth_Finger
Here is a little update. Almost there. Next up is figuring out how to snap this up. Helmet in the picture is a GF. Ā
Darth_Finger
Picked up some snaps today. These are the left over strips I am going to use for the snaps. Is its ok to use the left over strips for the snaps? Ā Here is one I tested Ā
ThayNerd[TK]
Looking good Johnny. Just about there! Can't wait to see you suited up.
Darth_Finger
Yeah I hope it turns out good. I should have built the suit first before painting. Niext Been thinking about my next set of armor
Darth_Finger
Ran into a little bit of a snag. One of the snap plates I glued to the chest area burned a hole in the armor Used to much glue and touched the metal snap. I have a few ideas on how to fix it. The rest of the snaps I am just going to glue the corners.
ObiHahn[TK]
I had similar problems with glue burning through my armor in places - I just used too much of it, though. But man, your looking great so far, awesome progress. I love the shine of your paintjob!
dougefresh
That is looking NICE, Johnny! Ā Would you mind posting some pics of the left (as you're looking at it) bicep? Ā Mine came out lookin' kinda funky-- I'd like to compare, if you have time.

Ā Mine came out lookin' kinda funky-- I'd like to compare, if you have time. Ā Ā To be honest, I havent figured out which is left or right. I just kinda through the armro together for that pic. I am going to try and work on it a bit more tomorrow. Finding time is the worst part of these build. If I had it my way I would be spending a lot more time on it. I will get some pics for ya tomorrow on the bicep piece.

(Not doing so hot with that one this weekend. ) Ā As for the bicep, it's this guy: Ā Ā Thanks, man! I really appreciate it.

dougefresh
Ahhhhh... so THAT'S what it looks like when you don't screw it up. Ā Oh man... looks like I'm gonna' need to perform a rescue operation on mine. Hmmm... hope I left myself enough plastic to put an edge on it. Ā Thank you for posting that! You're a life saver. This helps A TON!
Darth_Finger
Anytime Does the shoulder bell cover up what you did?
dougefresh
Anytime Does the shoulder bell cover up what you did? Ā Umm, not really, but it's on the part of my arm that will usually be tucked against my body-- thank goodness. Ā It might just be that particular piece, in this one particular pull, but my inner left bicep had absolutely no edge on the top. The junk excess plastic ran right up to where the inside of the return edge should be. Ā I think I'll be able to heat it up and make a lip on my own, though. My bicep will just have 1/4" or so less on top. No biggie... I hope.
Darth_Finger
Glued all the snaps today. Hope to start puting this on in the next few days. A few of the snap plates are squares that I glued on a week ago. Didnt really like how they turned out. I made the rest oblong. That way I use less glue. Ā Ā I still need to fix this, which happend to both sides. Ā
