It's not Macro's but have you tried maplins, that where i get all my fan kts from:

MOst just use cheap computer cpu fans, I use 40mm fans. Look at the specs and find the quietest and your away :)

can i use a 12v fan with a 9v battery, do i need to step it down, i left school without electrical qualifications !!

Went to maplin and he said i couldnt use a 12v fan and they dont do 9v ones.

 

What do i exactly need to build my fan kit ?

Buy a three AA battery holder and three pairs of these batteries--------

along with the recharger----------

 

Those are rechargeable lithium 3.7v batteries, you'll have almost 12v and they'll last a lot longer than a 9v battery :)

I suggest the tutorial on this page for fans. Do use AA batteries. 9V are not made to run things like fans and will only last a short while and are expensive to replace. AA will last numerous troops.
