Trooper1972[TK] Posted April 5 Author Report Posted April 5 Hope these are ok. Would like to submit this thread for Centurion status once EIB is granted. Quote
Doggydoc[Staff] Posted April 6 Report Posted April 6 Hi Graeme @Trooper1972, Thanks for submitting your EIB application (again). We have put it in the queue and will be with you as soon as possible. For your centurion application, we will need a new post for that to keep everything organized for other members to look through. 2 Quote
Doggydoc[Staff] Posted April 6 Report Posted April 6 @Trooper1972 One more thing we will need before starting the approval process. Could you please add photos of the back of your thermal detonator showing the screws as well as a photo of your abdomen button panels similar to what we have below? Thanks Quote

Doggydoc[Staff] Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 @Trooper1972 One more item if we may. Could you also please clarify, in the full body photo, the soles of your boots are black and in the close up one they are painted white Quote

You can see from this photo taken on Sunday they are black. 2 Quote
Doggydoc[Staff] Posted April 10 Report Posted April 10 Hi Graeme, Thank you for your EIB application. Your armour looks great and you are very close to Expert Infantry approval. We will just need a couple fixes before we can go ahead and approve you. Forearm Armour Your forearms are sitting a bit high creating a large gap between the lower end of the forearm and the hand guard. For a more screen accurate look, the distance between the biceps and forearm should be the same as the distance between the forearm and the hand guard. This will likely just require a slight strapping modification. Alternatively, the entire biceps and forearm pieces may be lowered to reduce the gap at the wrist. References Thermal Detonator The control panel on your thermal detonator should be facing straight back, yours has a slight upward tilt to it. This can be corrected by slightly opening up the curve on the bracket to "roll" the thermal detonator downward slightly. References 1 Quote

Trooper1972[TK] Posted April 10 Author Report Posted April 10 So with reference to the forearms it’s just a dressing issue then? Do I need to suit up again then and slightly adjust where I place the Velcro inside the forearm so that when it’s worn the forearms are sitting slightly lower for the photo? Quote
Doggydoc[Staff] Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 @Trooper1972 Hi Graeme, we were worried that you would have issues seeing the images. You could try using a VPN like https://protonvpn.com/?ref=pme_lp_b2c_proton_submenu It is free and apparently works well. With respect to the forearm positioning, yes, we would like a new photo in full kit. 1 Quote

Also cheers for that VPN thing. Not very technically minded 1 Quote
Doggydoc[Staff] Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 @Trooper1972 I uploaded new versions of the photos with Flickr. Let me know if that works for you now 1 Quote
Trooper1972[TK] Posted April 11 Author Report Posted April 11 [mention=15085]Trooper1972[/mention] I uploaded new versions of the photos with Flickr. Let me know if that works for you now Brilliant yes mate thanks. Funny thing is I have the exact same reference picture you do ! I took a look at my TD and realised what you meant mate and I was able to adjust it straight away so now I just need to get those new photos done tomorrow. 🫡I’m going to post and request for Centurion as well straight away so can you see if there is anything else that may need sorting out as well in advance for that. . Cheers in advance 1 Quote
Doggydoc[Staff] Posted April 12 Report Posted April 12 @Trooper1972That is great. once we have your EIB set, I will post what we need for centurion to help you get everything ready. Also, not sure what happened but I am not seeing the photo in your last post. 1 Quote
Trooper1972[TK] Posted April 19 Author Report Posted April 19 Hi guys. Sorry for the delay but the last set of photos that were taken looked awful so had to wait. Today was at an awesome troop and managed to get someone to take some more pictures so here we go. TD has been moved and now in place and forearm Velcro moved so they sit lower. Please remember I’m 6’ 2” so my arms are longer. Tried setting the forearm Velcro in many positions but a lot of the time the forearm would be below the shoulder bell and that just wasn’t right !!!Hopefully job done now !! Quote
Doggydoc[Staff] Posted April 21 Report Posted April 21 Hi Graeme, We are so close to your EIB approval. Your thermal detonator adjustment is perfect but we just need a touch more adjusting on the arm armour. We want to see the gaps at the wrist and elbow be similar in size. Your right biceps is sitting a bit lower than your left and your forearms still need to come down a bit (especially on the right side). This should be a fairly easy strapping adjustment. Keep up the good work. References Quote

Keep up the good work. References I am sure you are aware of Troopermasters strapping system’s so the only adjustment is how and where you put the Velcro on the forearm when suiting up. There is no movement on the strapping between the biceps and the forearms, these are fixed in place. I have tried adjusting as much as possible and ended up with this ! As I have already stated please remember I am tall so my arms are longer than a guy who is around the 5' 10" mark which was the average height of the actors back then. I am not going to keep getting suited up over and over again just to adjust a strap 1 or 2mm for yet another load of photos so that you can again say “almost there" !!!! It states absolutely nothing about this in the EIB requirements - this is just your interpretation. I have met ALL the required elements as stated in the guidelines to be granted EIB Edited April 21 by Trooper1972 spelling Quote
Trooper1972[TK] Posted April 21 Author Report Posted April 21 (edited) I have yet to see in Star Wars Stormtroopers stood there with no weapon and with their arms down by their side All the references I see are with them in action, arms up fighting or moving so just stood arms down is not a thing. When suited up everything looks in place and as it should. Edited April 21 by Trooper1972 Quote
Trooper1972[TK] Posted April 21 Author Report Posted April 21 I suppose I could dangle my forearms below the shoulders as depicted here but I’m guessing that would be wrong also !! Quote
