Biggs[TK] Posted January 23, 2025 Report Posted January 23, 2025 I have a strip lens on my TK, it has been scratch beyond safety. What face shield material would be correct? Please provide a link if possible. I have been told to just get welder shield, but from online vendors I can't tell how clear it would be. Any help is welcome. TK14262 Quote

Biggs[TK] Posted January 23, 2025 Author Report Posted January 23, 2025 Thank you, that is better than some of the shields I got... they were too dark and way too thick. 1 Quote
JBar[TK] Posted January 23, 2025 Report Posted January 23, 2025 I used a replacement strip of green lens from Trooper Bay: https://trooperbay.com/product/dark-green-040-thick-transparent-tinted-vinyl-2-5-x-15-5-inches-lens-material-star-trooper-wars-stormtrooper-sandtrooper-armor/ I chose the 0.040 thickness ans the 0.020 is a bit too thin for me and you can potentially see eyes and any thicker is hard to work with and see out of Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted January 23, 2025 Report Posted January 23, 2025 Green lighting gel is also an option, which IIRC is what the screen used suits used. Very light, flexible and easy to cut. Not super robust though if that is an issue. Quote
Biggs[TK] Posted January 25, 2025 Author Report Posted January 25, 2025 I was able to source a green lens from airgas welding. This lens is lighter brighter than the original lens. At just $7.00 is is a great solution! Thanks all for you input, you were very helpful. I posed the question because I never could find a good discussion on the topic 1 Quote

Truely I was worried if it was dark enough. I think I will get 3 lends from the sheet 2 Quote
