Coiled it around a pencil about 6 times then attached it to counter and power cells. I've heard of some people using wire from an old electric shaver . Because it was already coiled. There really are no rules against it, and some Troopers like the look, but for screen accuracy (which I hope you will be aiming for) it is not needed.
