First E-11 scratchbuilds

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I've finally started build my E-11s. I figured if I'm going to build one, then why not two?

The barrels are made from 36mm OD PVC pipe, based on the plans in the 'best blaster templates' thread. I'll be juggling between those plans and the BBC RotJ plans throughout the build.

I've made some progress.

The magazines are more or less done. I've just got to add a few of the details on the bottom. I think the screw head stem might be a little tall for RotJ, but I'm not too worried at this point.

The end caps are done. I've made a start on the rear sights.

Forward sights. U-rails. Forward D-rings. I was making the D-rings out of Al rod, but unfortunately the last one broke as I bent it. I had to drill out a plastic rod to insert a paperclip and bend that. It has a slightly smaller diameter, but it works.

I've also started on making some handles.

Aside from sanding down the handles I've got to wait until I get more plasticard to continue.

Wow, very impressive scratch build so far! Very good choice about the 36mm OD pipes that's pretty much what the original MGC are.

Here are some more reference pictures for the magazine well area as I think this one could be improve a bit:
