I had the same problem with the butt piece flaring out at the sides; got a recommendation to run a strap from the outer edge's to the ab piece, which pulled them right in and worked like a charm. If it was, I would consider shortening it up to curve that bit under a little more., or even applying some heat the that area and creating more of a curve .
