I was going to mention that you are missing some pictures.

Yes, sorry, I was uploading the pics, but I had to go (girlfriend always first) ... and I didn't want to lose all that I had typed/uploaded... So I edited the post later. Thanks !

Looking good. This shouldn't affect your application but I would suggest trimming the excess overlap off of both sides of your ab plate. I had the same excess on my RS suit and it looks and feels a lot better once trimmed.

Looks great!

The thighes may be a bit long, which will affect moving while trooping.  As for approval, that is Steve's call.

Good Luck Trooper!

Nice suit Raphael! Looks like a fantastic build. Just a couple things if you plan on moving forward to Centurion. Your belt corners may need to be trimmed a bit more and on the pic of the left side of your helmet it looks as if you don't have any frown screen. Maybe it pulled back away from the front tooth while you were gluing it? Also your right side drop box needs to be moved  so it's even with the edge of the belt. And you may need to take a bit more return edge off the elbow portion of your forearms. A few photos I would add are close ups of the front and back of your thermal detonator, thermal detonator screw detail (slotted screws painted black) and your cod rivet from the outside. The only other thing I would do personally if it were my helmet is sand/clean up the eyes. They look a bit wavy and rough. Best wishes and good luck my friend! :jc_doublethumbup:

Hi all,

Thanks for your comments and the time spent reviewing the armor, you guys are amazing !

Yes, apparently the frown screen was not glued properly at the front... I will revise that.

Coming back with photos of the thermal detonator.

I remember seeing a pic of the belt corners somewhere but I can´t fint it anymore, can someone pls re-post or point me in the right direction?

Thanks again !!

Here's your order. 1 pic on the belt supersized!

As seen in the pic above, a slight armour overlap looks fine in my opinion.

Your belt corners look fine to me if you wanna follow this picture :). And as we always say, all these are just suggestions. But don't make ANY changes until the DO (Gaz) tells you to do so. Because Gaz is the one who'll make the final decision on the application :)

Before I do an official review I am going to need some additional pictures as required by the list:

Helmet front

Lens color (backlit if necessary)

Hovi Mic tip close-up

Thermal Detonator

You don;t need to re-take these, but your arms should be at your side for the submission pics. This is to check overall fit of your armor.

OOps!!! We' re thinking the same......You JUST posted Detonatorpics. You can just color the screws with a black marker if you want. They can be screws or machine screws with nuts just as long as the heads are slotted not phillips

Just posted a few more pics... sorry to be so much trouble .. But since I am new at this, and some body/armor parts, I  don't even know how to call them in english..  :)  it's not as easy as it seems to get it right the first time.

Hope to have everything... getting the bolts later this afternoon.

Thanks !

Additional photos look great! I would scrape the white paint off of your cod rivet and your butt snaps. These typically were not painted.

Thanks, will do. Also I have just added a pic of the thermal detonator with the new screws.

Cheers!

Hey Rafael! Thank you for applying for EIB! You have done a wonderful job on your build! Always a pleasure to see another well built RS suit! Let's look at your armor.

CRL and EIB Application Requirements:

After a few tries ;) , all submission photos are present. Your armor meets all qualifications for EIB, With that, I would like to congratulate and welcome you to EIB!!!!!

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:

Sometimes details make a difference. A lot of RS suits position the rivet covers on the waist belt too far in. You did them more correct positioning them towards the end. Well done. A trooper mentioned that your thighs and shin are a bit close together. This will make no difference in any of your applications I just worry about comfort and pinching. If you wanted, you could remove a little material from the center arch of the bottom of the sins to allow each shin to drop a bit lower. If they are comfortable, leave them be.

Your helmet painting is outstanding!!! I applaud this!! For the record, though, the vocoder (area between the mic tips) should be a matte black (in between gloss and flat) not flat black.

Centurion Suggestions:

With your attention to detail, I can only assume that you will be applying for Centurion. Many of the suggestions are with Centurion in mind.

RS was nice enough to build their ab plate with a little extra side material to allow bigger troopers a chance to wear it. You do not fall into the larger trooper category. The overlap on your right side should be trimmed down. This will do several things: improve the look, improve the fit/feel, and get the male snap into its proper place on the armor. 1AC8D191-44C0-4557-A24E-37EAF44BCF4C_zpsI can't see if your left side has the same overlap. If it is excessive, it should be trimmed as well for the same reasons.

The paint on the rivet and snaps in the crotch area should be removed. These were never painted on the originals.

Thank you for making the screw change on your thermal detonator. Looks great! This leads me to my next point. As seen here on an original detonator, gallery_12157_59_19594.jpgthe belt clips should be very close to the center control panel. Yours have a good gap there. It would be great, since the screw holes would be covered, if you could move the clips closer to the panel.

Other than that, make sure you follow the Centurion photo list when/if you apply.

Congratulations again!!

Hi, thank you all for your comments !

On sunday I had my first patrol, so exciting !

I will carefully follow your indications, will move the detonator clips, trim the ab plate and scrap the paint.

I noticed on sunday how difficult is for me to walk... I've been told to remove a bit on the thigh´s back....  I am just worried about how much is aceptable and in what shape? I mean, should i do an arch or straight?

Thanks !

  • 1 month later...

Hi guys,

Can you pls help me with the ab plate trimming.... the plate has a "border" that will be missing if I trim it... can someone point me to a thread (tried searching but could not find) or post some pics showing the end result?

Thanks !!
