I've been making a start on my TD / O2 canister supplied with my kit and mine is a bit different from what I'm seeing around here.

It has some molded attachments (to make the rear of it flat?) which I'm not noticing on other peoples examples.

Is this still suitable, or shall I ditch it and start from scratch with a more traditional cylindrical pipe I'm seeing elsewhere?

Cheers

That is acceptable for basic 501st membership. EIB and Centurion status here on the FISD no. You'll need a more screen accurate canister. One which base is a PVC pipe. Metal belt clips.

If that's all you have to work with right now, might as well go for it, but use the metal clips, not velcro on the flat parts.

But if you want to be more accurate, use the PVC pipe style.

Makes sense, might as well do it properly the first time and upgrade to pvc pipe and clips from the outset.

Thanks very much indeed.

FYI: Metal clips are a base requirement these days ;)

I might add it is much easier to build to centurion standards from the get go, not that much more work and you will be glad you did in the end :D, good luck how ever you choose to build.
