Beginner wondering about T/MC kit.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I've been debating on getting some armor for a while now. I thought about making my own, pepakua, fiberglass and bondo style, but I just couldnt make it look as good as I wanted. After looking on here for a few days I am completely overwhelmed and a little nervous. I'm scared about ordering the wrong thing, or bad quality armor, and be out a lot of cash!

I started snooping around here and found the T/MC kit by Tray and thought it was reasonably priced and looked nice. I'm 6 foot tall, 235 pounds and I was wondering if it would fit me? Also, does it come with assembly instructions or could I find them on here? What kind of stuff do I need to do to it to make it complete? How do you attatch it to the black undersuit?

Sorry for all of the questions, I'm just really nervous about taking the plunge.

Thanks for any help!

T/MC is what I have and I love it. I highly recommend it! I'm 6 feet 175 pounds and the armour fit me without any special modification or shimming. You might need to do some shimming depending on how big around your limbs and torso are. I suggest you take a look around the forums here. If this is your first time building a TK you've got LOTS of research to do! :duim:

I have a T/MC kit. I'm smaller, so I can't really tell you how it would fit you. But it DOES come with some helpful assembly instructions. You will still need to purchase your soft parts: belt, boots, undersuit, gloves and the strapping to hold everything together. I think it it is a great kit for a first-timer.

235 pounds in screen accurate armor without shimming - probably impossible.

Keep in mind, that the actors in ANH were pretty skinny ;)

The easiest way to get some information about the armor would be to contact Tray directly, look here : http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/

A good alternative for bigger troopers is RT-MOD.
