BigBadaBoom Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 I am about to finish my minimal launcher and I'm just waiting for my doopydoos e11 conversion pieces to get here. Also I have until December before my armor should be ready. In the meantime I need a new blaster project and have decided to next build a DLT19 for my HWT. I have been window shopping for kits and stuff as well as looking at scratch builds. Kits are expensive but I've found that I can really rack up dollars in scratch projects too. So I'm asking your opinions. Doopydoos kit? Cushman kit? Or scratch build? Bear in mind I don't want something flimsy but something with structure and heft to it. (that's why I made my minimag 12lbs!). I plan on trooping with this weapon when my bazooka would be just a little too "much". Thanks in advance. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 commercial vendors: cushman is out. bad seller. lot's of people get burned. doopy won't usually sell to the USA. sci-fire has the best quality for troopers in the USA. hands down best! there are some e-bay sellers that have some parts from the original in resin, you simply make up the other parts scratch! matt black Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Do Doopy's not sell the kits to the States? I thought it was just the fully built ones that they won't ship. Quote
gh05ty Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) scratch build it - i did and it was fun figuring out how and what to do as i went .... cheap too (about £10 using items i found around the house and had left over from other builds) Edited August 31, 2012 by gh05ty Quote
Griffin-X[TK] Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 I have a Cushman, but the pull was terrible. I put a lot of work into it and made it better but would not refer anyone to them. My Sci-fire DLT from Lewis is a work of art. Get one, you won't be sorry. Quote
BigBadaBoom Posted September 1, 2012 Author Report Posted September 1, 2012 I'll check into scifire and the possibility of making one scratch. I might have parts to do scratch but I'd want to get my welder out to do it. Quote
BigBadaBoom Posted September 1, 2012 Author Report Posted September 1, 2012 How do you get ahold of Scifire to order something? Their site only takes me to a reference page with pics of blasters. Quote
