Hello friends

I have ATA armor and am about to start my mad dash to get it together in time for Halloween.

Once thing I have not seem mentioned is how to install/glue/adhere the black trim pieces to the helmet

What's the best way to keep that clean? It seems to be a magnet for pet hair!

Thanks

What is mainly done is the trim is a cut a length a little longer than what is need so the compression of the extra length of the trim keeps it in place for the most part. If its still coming off or want to make sure it stays put then some people will add a very tiny bit of supper glue in a few spots to glue it in. I had a little problem with my brow trim drooping slightly in the center and used a little bit of double sided tape, its seems to be doing ok.

careful with glue and trim. you can leave a visible mark on the rubber from the inside that will show as a dimple on the outside.

just a small drop with no pressure applied should do the trick!

Once you install it like Kevin said, you won't have a problem. The brow trim is self explanatory, the "s" trim for the neck however can be a challenge if you have never done it before. I have always kind of installed it first BEFORE cutting it to length. I have seen the partition at the front and back of the helmet. With so many swoops in the front, I thought that a seam here would be a weak spot so I always kept the seam at the rear. Just my opinion. Anyway, once you start pushing the trim onto the helmet, you always need to make sure it is all the way on and not loose. Once you have several inches in place, then begin to compress it by holding the trim with one hand while push/sliding the trim towards the "holding" hand. Do this until you get to your starting point and mark your seam where the ends meet. Add about a 1/4 inch of extra trim to the end. This will keep the entire trim strip compressed and attached to your helmet.
