Okay, I found out that my right inside piece was in fact the left...it had the curves, not straight as it should be That link was a big help. Now, on the ends of the fore arm, I trimmed as much as I could then used the Dremel with a sanding flap wheel So the "return", i think you call it, has been removed Here's what I have on the right side.... Look better? I think I cut too much on one side (left) but the right looks good...You can see those two white strips of how much I removed.

I've already had to do that, which makes me appreciate E6000 that much more.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you... I need to take a close look at how you did the waist belt too. I bought the canvas one from Trooper Bay and need to read up on your build and others. One question that comes to mind...I'm right handed so my holster would go there. Just need to figure out the attach point. I have to say, working with plastic is nerve-wracking for the un-initiated. My two aluminum R2-D2s were much easier!

Yeah, good to have confirmed. In other ATA builds I've just seen the trimming from out of the box but wasn't sure how the finished arm should look like

Yes I have the correct pieces, checked and double checked. I have the cover strips cut to the right sizes that Terrell wrote done on the plastic But I was told the ATA required less trimming and been hesitant to trim away much beyond where the molding edge was. So, what should that rectangular ridge be size wise?

I'm envious of your forearms. Mine are a nightmare. I'm not sure how much I should be trimming them back. From what I see in this build and others, I should be removing more material but hesitant to do so.

Should I be removing a lot more of that flat area? It looks from other builds I have seen that there's is not quite so wide?

Well gents (and ladies), I am really stumped on the forearms and haven't made it far beyond that. I just can't sort this out... I have trimmed the arm pieces from the where the molds end. When I then look at the halves of the forearms together, I just can't figure out if they are supposed to look this bad? Well I cut up two 5/8 inch strips and moved ahead...I figured if the trim was a little long, that beat being short! Once I had one side done, I moved on to the next... ...and I'm out of clamps...so, the other arm will have to wait!

I wrote him asking if he had more videos on the way...despite the armor kit being different, seeing someone confidently zip, score, break and bond pieces together was the motivator I needed. I was worried about pieces that just didn't look like they had any means to line up. Then Terrell guided me on the diffrence between SHIM (make bigger) and COVER STRIPS, which now makes a LOT more sense to me I have one of those Sony Bloggie HD cameras so I'm going to record along as I go. Not only to document what I do wrong, but right? I have the holster, does that rivet into that belt (later in the build)? I bought the white belt from TrooperBay and need to get some decals for the bucket.

Okay, so as I thought....the slow road may be better. The videos are quite good...I have a much better idea of how to trim those pieces down....seeing is quite helpful!

What's everyone's thoughts on Zap A Gap / Zip Kicker? (http://trooperbay.com/zap-a-gap-zip-kicker-combo-pack/) Looks like a remarkably FAST way to get a lot of the armor halves attached. Just wondering if there were any real down sides? My friend who has an upholstery business helped me back several snap plates tonight. Suffice to say his equipment, working with various leathers and so on made fast work of the plastic "For Sale" sign I had. We cut up one inch squares and made about a dozen.

Ok, I'm starting on the fore arms and ...well...completely stuck. Does the INSIDE curl under the OUTER piece? It really appears that way, since when I line the edges up, they really aren't even close... Going with that thought, I used the Painter's Tape and a few more clamps On the other arm, comparing the edges, this arm lines up a bit better on one side... Help

Thank you....well I would love to let R2 be quite autonomous at some point but my experience has been it won't be anytime soon. I work at a medical center and we do pediatric visits with sick kids from time to time as well as numerous local charities that are kid-related. Kids are always jumping in front of R2, poking, sticking fingers into doors that are motorized and so on. I use a 2.4ghz remote (same used for RC helicopters) for the foot and dome motors and I have a Netbook inside R2 connected to a 15w amplifier connected to small car door speakers. I wrote the software so that a Windows XBOX Game Pad can trigger the sounds/music/sound effects I went with the Windows XBOX since they are abundant at any PC gaming store. I've already broken two so having something that available is a big deal!

Thank you Thank you for HIGH RES pics! I am just starting and saw your fore arms and how they line up...mine are the same way. Asides your "magic paste", what should one do? Trim some more? Or try to make edge size level and shim away?

Now my first questions are this... Let's start with the forearms.... As they are, they fit my arms fine, adding a shim would just make them bigger. Do you trim away material from the forearm pieces to accomodate a shim? I mean, if there isn't a shim, I am stuck wondering which piece goes on top of the other Or better yet, are there any instructions for this armor? I lost my password to the ATA Owners Group and the "Reset Password" link failed. So, before I guess, wing it and hope...I thought I would ask!

Sadly, that lovely man cave in the first pictures is my friend's The one at the end...with the "manly" pink floor is mine LOL I keep meaning to paint that over from the original home owner....but something else always comes up
