Sonnenschein
Okay, My BF and are building the first suit, which is for him. The first problem is: if we trim down the arms,so that th 13mm finishing strips sits flush, he cant get his hand thrugh. So, should we adjust the strip to size (16mm) or should leave it to 13 mm? TK bondservnt[501st]
well leave enough extra armor and make the strip the right size, but trim the armor large enough to fit.
iconoclasta_88[TK]
Have you gotten ride of the whole return edge on the wrist side of the arms? Also, how long are his arms? Weird question huh? But is they are regular to shorter, you could cut off a bit of the edge of the arm too and make them open wider... Ayway, the arm sgould have no return edges on the wrist end. If thy wont feet anyway, i would make the "front" strips a bit wider, but not much, and get a bit more room from the back strips. Just an idea. Saludos. troopermaster
13mm is a bit narrow to start with, so go for 17mm if you need to. The screen used armour strips varied in size so there is no definitive size. Just trim the to fit comfortably and trim off all the return edge at the wrist. Leave a minimal edge at the elbow if you want or trim all of that away too. The main thing is that they fit your BF. make the joining strips whatever size is needed. No point having the strips cut too narrow and your BF cannot wear them
sith_241
PICTURES! Then we can go bonkers with your problem. But 13mm is a bit narrow. I used 15mm personally. What type of armor is it?
gazmosis[501st]
Make sure when you guys are fitting the armor that he has the undersuit handy. He should be wearing that when fitting. Then tell him he is not allowed to gain ANY weight!!!!
troopermaster
If that's how the bicep looks when it fits properly then go with a wider strip. I think you should try and cover more of the joining edge and use a 20mm strip. You can at least cut one and see what it looks like.
