john danter Posted December 7, 2010 Author Report Posted December 7, 2010 I know the ones you mean Rich. Dashrazor put them up a while back? Each film? I'll sell these on for £5 a pair when finalized, so any input on getting them bang on would be cool. Karin has told me my thumb line edge needs to slope into rather thasn step into that part. I'll try and sort that today Quote

Sonnenschein Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Reviving this to get more input Quote
Sonnenschein Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 This is the best picture I found with the "straight edge", altough the upper right corner is missing. Quote
Sonnenschein Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) Here's a quick comparison: What other differences do you spot besides the edge? Edited January 27, 2011 by Sonnenschein Quote
SW1 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Hi Karin could you make the handgaurds to have a bumpy effect in areas as seen in that photo ? it would also match some of the bumpy origanal helmets , just a thought Quote
Sonnenschein Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 You can read my mind! I've been trying to achieve this effect for the last days. I'm showing pics soon... Quote

TK bondservnt[501st] Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 this image looks oriented correctly. firing towards the bridge, as the door closes. one thing about cutting the knuckle curves: the cut seems to be knuckle cut at the bottom edge where it meets the glove, while the handplate's contour is kept str8. the knuckle cuts being on the bottom can be pretty easy to do actually. if you leave some latex out of the mould and let it fill up the edge of the mould, but taper the inside lower than the edge you would be able to cut with scissors a set of knuckle indentations on the thinner inner lip, created by leaving latex out of the mould and tapering it towards the edge. I'll try to post a couple of photos using my handplates as a guide... Quote
Sonnenschein Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Vern, this is exactly how I do my "knuckles" If you'd like to make a guide for cutting, please do it for the recent non-latex plates I'd do it myself, but I dont have any left. You have the honor to own the very last one Quote
