They look really close to the ones in ANH, well done - and inspiring Ā Thanks, i tried to get closer to the screen used rather than the idealized so went for a weathered/beaten about gold/silver paint on a plain band with a simple pin & hole lock to keep them closed. gh05ty Posted July 10, 2010 Author Report Share Posted July 10, 2010 It is 100mm pvc pipe originally intended (i think) for main home waste, which has had a section cut out and then heated up and re-shaped to be smaller... the hinge is very basic... cut the castleated shapes into the ends then use a very small model drill bit to drill most of the way through then use a metal pin (i used a large paper clip) and just glue the pin in one end.
