  1. Thanks Chef, I would if I had a video camera. I think your idea of Dave making a video about the steps to putting on your armor Would be great. Come on Dave make us a video! please... I'm trying to finish my armor so I can get 501st approved with my TK-4261 # so I could go to the Loma Linda Children's Hospital here in Southern Calif. at the end of August. I live only 20 minutes from this event and it would be nice to make a lot of children smile on my first troop. So if there is anyone going to this event and lives near my area could you please PM me about our local Garrison so I could get approved. I should be done by the middle of August and have all my pics also. I want access to the off limit forums I'm also hoping to get Deployment Status on my first try Curtis
  2. Hey Troops, All of my armor has been put together from using this forum and getting my ideas from all the different methods you guys use and also Dave's Videos. Without WhiteArmor.net it might take me a lot longer and my armor might not come out as wearable and sturdy as it is. Thanks, You guys ROCK! Curtis
  3. Hey Troops, I've completed my ab/back piece today. It fits snug and doesn't move at all and its not uncomfortable. It doesn't seem like I need suspenders, but I will of course add them. First I took 6 pieces of 2 X 4 black elastic and glued them to the back/butt piece with E6000 and them taped them down over night. I used 1 (2 X 6 black elastic) glued with E6000 & riveted with 6 rivets, 2 (2 X 3 black elastic) one side glued with E6000 and the other end each with 2 snaps. All the female snaps on abs were glued with plastic welder. The ab buttons are blue and grey... They look darker with my camera. till next time, Curtis
  4. Looks good Chef! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Curtis
  5. I think they are called Verio pliers (just for snaps) I got them at a fabric/sewing store. Thanks Curtis
  6. PP sent for Titanium! I love this place! Thanks, Curtis
  7. Thanks Mike, For the nice holster Curtis
  8. Hey Craig, Nice helmet... I'm saving my helmet for last. I have the same kit and it is an AP kit. Mine came from Canada and it is a very nice kit for the money. I'm almost done with my armor and then I will move on to the helmet. The first thing I noticed about the helmet kit was the thin piece of film for the lenses(not using) I found some green lenses for ANH helmets for $20 on ebay and they are very nice. Just search under stormtrooper helmet. I used the score and snap method on my and it worked out great for me. Here is my progress thread if you haven't seen it already. ----- From what I understand (don't quote me) AP Authentic Props aquired the molds from GF . Good luck with your armor, Curtis
  9. Hey Troops, I've completed my canvas belt that I received from firebladejedi and followed his tutorial and it turned out good. This is a great belt and a fun project to complete. here is the link: Canvas Utility Belt I only used a couple of different things. Black 1 inch nylon straps for the amo pouches and I used a leather hole punch to make all of the holes in the belt except the holes in the part of the belt with the extra piece of ABS for the holster. I used a drill for that and then I took the souldering iron and poked it through the holes to make sure they don't frey(carefully). The best part of this belt is the ability to take everything apart for easy storage/transportation. Here are some pics of the Canvas belt project. Till next time, Curtis
  10. Hey Troops, Here are the pics of my right thigh plate I attached today. I used white rivets, velcro and plastic welder. I was just going to use rivets and velcro for cushining, but that changed. I put a pice of velcro in the middle and a dab of plastic welder on each side, cause there was a big gap on each side and the velcro wasn't even touching. The first dab was kind of messy but who will see it? Oh Ya, all of you guys reading this post I used 1/8 white rivets on each side. Till next Time, Curtis
  11. Hey Troops, I finished my thighs last night and they came out great, fit perfect. Again I used Dave's Videos on You Tube, I still can't stress enough the importance of using Dave's Videos to all newcomers putting together armor. Dave shows you a way to keep the mess to a minimum and is very thorough. http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=glastondebury Oh ya, if someone could send Dave a set of Dark Smoke Grey flat lenses, cause I think he might be dead of anticipation from waiting for the lenses he ordered 2 weeks ago Here are some pics of last nights project. Instead of gluing the front and velcro the back I glued both seams. Till next time, which will be about 10 minutes, I will post my thigh plate I did today. Curtis
  12. Wow a chef and college professor. Lol You are 8 hours ahead of me. I was up finishing up my thighs at 2:00 am. All that learning made me hungry... go cook something.... Curtis
  13. 1/8 white rivets, not long enough Curtis
  14. Hey Troops, Here are some more detailed pics of the knee plate that Arlo requested. The rivets barely fit through the two pieces of plastic, so I hope it holds. <_< Hope these help Arlo. Curtis
  15. Arlo, Thanks for posting pics. Nice job, it looks very comfortable. I think I'm going to do the same, I hope it will fit in my AP helmet. Curtis
  16. Hey Troops, Ive heard of people using the liner out of a batters helmet and using velcro to secure it if you ever have to replace it. Does anyone know where to find some pictures of this Mod? Thanks guys, Curtis
  17. Hey Troops, Tank you for all the great feedback. Yes Al I'll post some more detailed pics of the knee plate tomorrow. Thanks again guys, Curtis
  18. Hey Troops, I've finished my shins and attached the knee plate today. I used the same method as Dave's Videos again and they turned out great. I attached the knee plate with white rivets. First I taped the plate to the shin and then drilled the holes, it was much easier to keep the plate even. Tomorrow I will glue the thighs and then start doing my webbing and canvas belt mod. Everything is coming along nice and smooth and I hope thats the way my 501'st approval and deployment status goes. Here are some pics of todays project. Till next time, Curtis
  19. Hey Troops, I just wanted to post some pics of my Hasbro Blaster Mod. Here is what I used: 1. Blaster from Hasbro.com $19.99 2. Conversion Kit from E-bay $40.00 3. Devcon Plastic Welder $ 2.97 4. 1 can grey primer $ 2.99 5. 1 can semi gloss black $ 2.99 6. Silver hobby paint $ 1.99 7. 1 small paint brush $ .99 8. 1 large size paint brush (dry brushing) $ .99 Total = $73.00 I was going to purchase a Resin Blaster but decided it would be more fun and cheaper to put my own together. Not bad for my first one. Have fun to whomever is going to Celebration Europe! Curtis
  20. Thats good news! How do they look? Could you post a pic when you have time? Thanks, Curtis
  21. No problem Chef! Whats on the menu today? Curtis
  22. Hey Troops, Today I put together my biceps. I was going to put together my shins/calfs also, but when I was test fitting my biceps I realized I needed to do alot of trimming around the edges to make them fit as good as can be. It took a few hours until I was happy. That seems to be the only problem with getting a kit that is not pre-trimmed, but the kit is awesome. Basically I've decided to only put together one set of pieces a week such as next week I'll put together my shins/calfs and the week after, my thighs. I want to take my time so it comes out the best it can be. I'll be doing other projects along the way like my Kenner blaster mod and my canvas belt mod with holster from Firebladejedi and I'll post all my progress for all to see. Biceps: All I needed were four things, 1. Devcon plastic welder 2. Blue painters tape 3. Clamps 4. Timer I watched Dave's You-Tube videos as reference but as I said before I decided to weld both sides of the biceps, so I just repeated Dave's process 4X. They turned out better than I imagined. I just took my time and tried not to be in a rush. Make sure if you glue to stay 1/8 of an inch away from the edge of your tape line so you don't squeeze out any glue on to your visible armor. You only have a few minutes to work with this glue. Here are some progress pics of todays project. Again thanks for everyone being so cool and thanks again to Dave for his videos, his helmet is coming along great! Till next week, Curtis
  23. Excellent Work, Hats off to you. Curtis
