POLL: What glue have you tried, what actually works
TK-4261 replied to Daetrin's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
True, I noticed it turning yellow on the inside spillage in my armor, luckily I taped it off good on the outside when I glued But that stuff does bond nice! I didn't realize how many people use E6000 for exclusively putting armor together. Guess it would work really well cause if you ever have to modd your armor you will be able to take it apart....I am definitely going to try this on my next set of armor -

TIP: small pad mic tutorial - less feedback
TK-4261 replied to john danter's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
I found those mics here in the States and for only 50 cents each so I ordered 5. http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item...ICROPHONE_.html Curtis -
TIP: small pad mic tutorial - less feedback
TK-4261 replied to john danter's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
Thats a great set up! I looked those mics up and they are omni-directional and they are cased very well. They only cost $5 so I ordered a couple. I'll try anything to get rid of feedback. I have the powered radioshack mic and a skullworx kit with Stompers Hovi's and speakers and I get alot of feedback with the radioshack mic. Curtis -

I was 7 years old.... 1977..... Mann Theater... Upland, Calif.... A week or so after the movie release my Mom took me to Toys R Us early in the morning and she wouldn't tell me where we were going. When we got there there was a line and all I remember was a lot of people wearing Star Wars T-shirts. When the store opened and everyone went in and there was Freakin Darth Vader a Stormtrooper and C3PO greeting everyone when they walked inside. Freakin Awesome it was.... They also gave everyone an oversized comic book of A New Hope. I wish I still had it, but I remember the drawings looking nothing like the characters in the movies. I think this was it... Curtis

G4's Armour Progress ....

Looks like you looked at my thread... Lol... Looks great, I wish I had more room and tools so I could have done the butt seam also. It looks more accurate up close. Can't wait to see it finished. Curtis -
Thanks, I'm very happy with my AP. Its held up very well. Especially for long all day trooping (almost 8 hours at Wizard Con.) No problems except just keeping my thighs straight without having to adjust them all the time. I recommend this kit highly. Curtis

Hey Troops, Sorry I haven't been on in a few months, due to work. Now I have more time to spend on the forums again. Plus I missed you guys... ... Lol... I'm getting ready for Comic Com in a few months and I hope to see some of you there. I might build a Tie Pilot suit for Comic Con. so one day I could be a TK and the other day a TI. They say it is much more comfortable than a TK and There aren't that many TI's in Southern Calif. Curtis

After Trooping at Wizard Con for seven hours I also realized that I had the same problem. I am 5'11 and I think I will trim out a little off the back like in the Pic above for Comic Con. I ended up with bruises on the top back of my calves. Curtis

trooper helmet ear not fit right
TK-4261 replied to giric thren's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
It looks ok to me but if you want it tighter you can push it together without the bolt in it and drill a new set of hole underneath the bottom of the ear piece. Thats what I did to get a smaller gap but no matter what you will still have a little gap. If you look at reference photos of the on screen helmets most of them had some visible gap around the ears. Hey Troops, My friend David took this short video of me at Toys"R"Us and posted it on you tube.. Enjoy, Curtis

Looks Great! Curtis -
I ended up using the batting helmet liner, I just cut a few pieces off of it and it fit perfect. Its great cause I used velcro to keep it in place and when it gets old I can just pop in a new one. I just need to fit the extra pieces of foam and cover the screws on the inside. Curtis

Hey Troops, I've finally got around to installing my electronics in my helmet. I had to do my first couple of troops without it, cause it took me a while to figure out how to fit it in there. It is still a tight fit when putting it on, but when its on it is very comfortable. Here are a few pics, Curtis

I only separated the butt piece. Curtis
