  1. The butt snap is present on the original armour and 'should' be part of the CRL.
  2. The straps are glued in the centre of the arms unlike on ANH armour where the straps are offset. The gaps look fine but the most important thing is how they feel. The less gap you have, the less chance of pinching.
  3. Thanks It's like he has gathered his armour on his travels - picking up parts here and there. Looking forward to doing more work on this.
  4. Hi everyone, I have started work on a Dengar costume with the aim as being as close to the original movie suit as possible. It is very slow going with the progress with all the work I have to contend with, but I will keep updating this thread as and when I have something to show. Here are some photos of what I have done so far. Dengar uses the same belt from the Rebel Hoth trooper. I made my own belt and need to make the correct greeblie. Shoulder bells. Two right bells on Dengar. That's it for now
  5. The hand strapping should be fine. Elastic stretches, you know
  6. Yes, way too low. When they are properly strapped you will probably have a big gap at your wrist. This is perfectly normal. Stormtroopers are always armed so when you have your blaster in your hands, the gaps disappear.
  7. Your shoulder bells look fine. Remember to keep those forearms up tight against your biceps.
  8. I use Humbrol #22 white gloss but any white paint will do.
  9. Don't forget the middle rivet. Not sure if it's specified in the CRL but ROTJ armour has three rivets holding the ammo strap in place. Choose either the red or blue spot - wherever you can get a good fix
  10. The ends of the ammo strap are good but I would move the middle higher.
  11. Rivet the holster to the belt. The rivets are placed in the middle of the belt.
  12. Having a belt under the armour holding the thighs up is not only screen accurate, but makes wearing the armour so much better. If the thighs are attached to the abdomen, they have a tendency to pull the torso down. Having the thighs free from the torso is the way to go
  13. You have done with same thing with the thigh ammo strap as Markus did in his thread. The straps should be attached like this: (copied from his thread) Not like this: ------------ Also, I see most of the arm and leg armour look very loose on you. If you have enough room, you can totally remove one side of the joining edge to make them narrower. I would trim off the back strip on the inner half of each part if you have enough room. This is just a suggestion but let me know if you need more detailed info. The back knee joints could be trimmed a bit neater too. Cut them in a long diagonal line and they will look and feel much better. The thigh tops at the back could be trimmed to make them look neater. Check out these guys again for a bit of visual reference on how the movie suits were trimmed (and some of these were trimmed down). -----------
  14. It looks like you are too short for the armour to cause the chest to overlap the abdomen like that. You can pull the chest up and even trim out the neck curve a bit more to pull the chest even higher. I Have done this for short people many times and it makes a big difference to the overall look of the armour. You will have to replace the trim on the neck and reposition the shoulder straps, but it's worth the effort.
  15. Belt position looks fine to me. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160725/c5555025ed9a389e4089c7d5d4b6903f.jpg --------------
  16. The elastic straps are glued directly to the inside of the thighs. The looped end goes to the top and a thin black belt (preferably leather) passes though the loop to keep them up. I have found that leaving between 50-60mm of the strap protruding past the top of the thigh works best but tape them in place before gluing to make sure they feel fine when you wear them.
  17. You want to focus on the yellow lines only.
  18. ROTJ armour has an extra rivet near the middle of the strap but fixed inline with the others right at the top. It can be seen here between boxes 2+3 but I have also seen them between boxes 3+4 so feel free to add it wherever you choose
  19. It's the same for the opposite side.
