You forgot to mention:
You need to feel the burn of getting hot melted plastic sprayed at you from using the dremel.
-
I have used a Hyperdyne and a ROM/FX.
They are both excellent.

Welcome Nathaniel!
Indeed, the commercially available Rubies does not "as is" meet the 501st standards. There are other types of armor out there, but please take the time to do your research before you decide what is best for your needs.
Also keep in mind that want to buy threads for armor or helmets are not allowed.
If joining the legion is what you want, I highly suggest that you contact your local garrison or outpost and meet up with them at their next troopings. You will hopefully be able to see the different types of armors in persons so you can see what you like and how its assembled.

I can only hope to be half the man T is.
If only HPD we're hiring, I could start following those footsteps...

Thank you, FISD, for opening my eyes. Without you, I would have been happy trooping with my FX.
No seriously, thank you!
Since my arrival here, I did not know that there were different types of Stormtroopers (ANH, ESB, RoTJ)
Now, not only am I able to point them out, I have all the resources at my disposal to re-create that magic.
Though we've been through controversial times together (recast issues, Elite program, renaming of elite program, leather belts, ) most of us have come together (though some have not,) and have had a blast learning and growing to become better at our hobby.
I wish you a happy birthday, FISD! Let there be many more years of blood, sweat, and tears!

Actually the rules say no want to buy threads on armor or helmets. This thread should be allowed.
-
I never heard of ATA before, is this new, or a lesser known armor?
-
I always preferred the snow trooper hand plates over the ANH ones, but as a "Lefty" I like my holster on my left side.
-
Oh no.... With all the crazy things us troopers have been doing in restrictive armor, just imagine the things we'd do unrestricted.
Awesome!!!!!!

This will be my trooping bucket. One day when I have my own man-cave, I'll have room for a nice TE2 for display only!

does it come with stormtrooper decals? Without the stripes on the trapezoids, its a sandtrooper.
-
Both aspects are normal
Unless you have small arms, you may also want to trim the curve (by the elbow but on the inner part of the arm,) for a more comfortable fit. Otherwise you will experience something us troopers call armor pinch or armor bite.
-
buhahah how do you handle the hole down in the bottom of the holster
how about crumpled paper shoved down the holster to block the hole? If you can assemble armor, you should be crafty enough to block a hole

There is a reason why there isn't a master list

It's builds like these that make me cry that I bought an FX when I didn't know better...
What armor set is this?
Looks beautiful.....

Thankfully, photoshop exists!

I never had email problems using Gmail. It is in my opinion THE best email to have...
I can invite you to it if you like, just pm me your email and ill send one over.

I plan on selling my TK one day...only to go for a more accurate set of armor
-
Imperial officer is not an easy costume if you don't know how to sew.
I had a much easier time and spent less money making my stormtrooper...
-
Is that a re-casted helmet?
-
Thanks Manny - believe it or not the ears (albeit smaller and may not be the perfect fit for some) are the original as is parts. I did the necessary works with the Face Plate and Dome/End Cap to get the best fit I possible can before I re-attached the ear pieces.
Well you did a great job on it...
Oh and I just realized who I'm talking to... Splendid discovery on the Snowtrooper commander...

Just want to chime in for my bro, TK-252 on what a TOP NOTCH helmet this is and is definitely worth its weigh in gold.
Here are pictures of my personal LAWS Helmet that I've modified to match the look of the "STOP that ship, blast him" Sandtrooper officer. Pictures were taken before I applied the necessary Sandtrooper weathering to my helmet. *Click onto the thumb nails to view the larger pic*
and its a great light weight ABS helmet for hours of extended trooping, trust me.
Did you modify the ears? The look of the ears is the only part I don't like from the DLaws helmet. Yours looks beautiful!

On a side note, I've noticed that some of the official art drawings of stormtroopers are based off of 501st costumes for reference, so some of the official art will have FX buckets, and hasbro toy blasters.
What does that mean? It means we have to do our best with our costumes because others will look up to us as references..
Sorry if that's repetitive but I'm too tired to sound good. Hah!
