nice, does it fit FX helmets? I keep dropping my bucket.
Hopefully it will break one of these days so I can get an excuse to upgrade

All set guys - welcome to full FISD membership. Note the jacuzzi just beyond the blast doors (this is why we keep them closed).
A jacuzzi?!
Open the blast doors! I want in!!!
Edit: Oh, nvm just noticed this thread was for 501st trooper. Already got that. Working on elite now

Man, I never seen an FX recast. Yeeeoch!!
It happens when you don't do your homework I guess
PenPen: if you want to stick with that bucket, don't worry there's plenty of us who will help you out

Ah Walter - you didn't tell me you were applying! The only two things I see are the split for the butt plate which should be below the belt as noted and a detail shot of the holster mount - see to see at least two rivets. The rest is adjustment.
Someday the FX chest plate mod would be a simple idea, or you may decide to swap with an AP one. And I think the drop boxes could be moved out a bit - see http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/7/...ps_anh1080p.jpg
Not sure my opinion counts considering you're my GCO - may be considered a conflict of interest
I'm sure any opinion you have to offer will be beneficial

a recasted fx I might add

Here's what I found:
The rear armor split is supposed to be BELOW the belt.
The stripe decals on the side of the helmet looks a little bit too low.
Although the following is not a requirement, I highly suggest it as it would help improve your overall appearance:
Also the drop boxes should be spread apart, further, by the edges of the plastic belt, and brought a bit higher so that it doesn't show much of the white strapping.
Other than that I think your armor looks top notch! I wish I was that skinny

I only polish if there is a high profile event, or if I have some scuffs in my armor. Novus is the good stuff!
-
For those interested, be aware that Those are not 501st approved boots.
But, good luck on the sale!

I'm not sure what your FX holster looks like but you just need to cut the loops and attach them behind the belt.
BTW there is already a topic about this, a few topics down from yours:

I'd be more worried about personal safety. Bring a handler with you!

I believe Daetrin has pointed out that TE who has seen and touched a screen used belt up close, has found out that it was canvas.
-
It should work, but I'd think your underpowering it, causing it to run slow and drain the battery somewhat fast.
-
iam118, I think Shin simply wants to clear up the possible confusions so that buyers are well informed.

Call UPS and have them hold your package.

A plastic belt meets the minimum that will get you in the legion. Elite requirements are different. It's a step above the Legion's requirements.

Are these just a halloween item? I didn't see one while I was over there today.
I think it is a halloween item only.

I would first attempt to see if anyone on ebay will buy it. Take a loss on it if you have to. There's better armor cheaper
It will save you a lot of headaches in the long run.
-
... Only downside is you have to wash your underarmor every 3 to 4 troops.
Shouldn't you be washing your under armor after EVERY trooping? Ew!
-
Take her to the SPA
-
The first rule of trooping is to use the bathroom before hand!

Welcome Chris!
Just like Smitty said, get in touch with your local garrison, so you can checkout the different armors and how they were put together. The more you research now, the better your costume will be!
I've had my TK for almost 3 years and I'm still making modifications to it!
-
I might need some ABS soon. Ill let you know if I do.

One accessory that many troopers have is small fans to circulate air into the helmet. If you get some, do not mount them flush against the side of the helmet as it needs to be able to pull air from one side to push it out the other.
==========
My personal recommendation is to go for either the Hyperdyne or ROM/FX units.
Ask your local garrison what they use and ask to hear it in person. Do your research, find out what each of the above options offer.
I would post more, but I gotta head out.
Hope this helps to jump-start your search!

Hello, I am a recruit for the Excelsior Garrison, in Upstate NY.
I need some advice on what to get for the inner helmet gear. I have a CE helmet on the way, but i am feeling over whelm by what voice gear to buy and how the power supply is suppsoed to be hooked, mics, comms, .... Feeling a little overwhelm to say the least. LOL Draw it out in crayons and balloons for me, dont be afraid to use a stuff animal of two.
give me a second and I'll post up something.
Helmet Solution - Hopefully....

As long as you have padding, it should hold your helmet on your head well, without giving the bobble-head effect.
I wouldn't use the chin strap, so its easier to take off and put the helmet back on.
