  1. Ah Walter - you didn't tell me you were applying! The only two things I see are the split for the butt plate which should be below the belt as noted and a detail shot of the holster mount - see to see at least two rivets. The rest is adjustment.

Someday the FX chest plate mod would be a simple idea, or you may decide to swap with an AP one. And I think the drop boxes could be moved out a bit - see http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/7/...ps_anh1080p.jpg

Not sure my opinion counts considering you're my GCO - may be considered a conflict of interest :)

I'm sure any opinion you have to offer will be beneficial ;)

  2. Here's what I found:

The rear armor split is supposed to be BELOW the belt.

The stripe decals on the side of the helmet looks a little bit too low.

Although the following is not a requirement, I highly suggest it as it would help improve your overall appearance:

Also the drop boxes should be spread apart, further, by the edges of the plastic belt, and brought a bit higher so that it doesn't show much of the white strapping.

Other than that I think your armor looks top notch! I wish I was that skinny

  3. Welcome Chris!

Just like Smitty said, get in touch with your local garrison, so you can checkout the different armors and how they were put together. The more you research now, the better your costume will be!

I've had my TK for almost 3 years and I'm still making modifications to it!

  4. One accessory that many troopers have is small fans to circulate air into the helmet. If you get some, do not mount them flush against the side of the helmet as it needs to be able to pull air from one side to push it out the other.

My personal recommendation is to go for either the Hyperdyne or ROM/FX units.

Ask your local garrison what they use and ask to hear it in person. Do your research, find out what each of the above options offer.

I would post more, but I gotta head out.

Hope this helps to jump-start your search!

  5. Hello, I am a recruit for the Excelsior Garrison, in Upstate NY.

I need some advice on what to get for the inner helmet gear. I have a CE helmet on the way, but i am feeling over whelm by what voice gear to buy and how the power supply is suppsoed to be hooked, mics, comms, .... Feeling a little overwhelm to say the least. LOL Draw it out in crayons and balloons for me, dont be afraid to use a stuff animal of two. :P
