I agree, and forgot to mention that part as well. Most of the time little kids look up under the helmet and will see your face/facial hair/bucket accessories and will start calling you a fake, etc... After getting a good neck seal, balaklava, and painting the helmet interior black, noone has said anything about me be "fake". It just looks more proffessional in my opinion, and it helps give an impression that the helmet is "sealed" and not just a helmet.
Edit: Velcro, your avatar is awesome

So that it makes the lenses appear darker. That way they cant see through to see our eyes. It also looks much cooler.

Want to buy armor/helmet threads is prohibited, please read the rules. Thanks, and welcome to FISD.

remember we have kids reading this forum...
Kids, ALWAYS use protection

I was thinking about doing something like that but I don't want to have any cabels hanging or be in the way when I take on and off the helmet. So for now I am still gonna try have everything in the helmet.
Thanks for your thoughts
What way I currently have it, the mic is small and is clipped on to my balaklava, pressed against my lips, so there is no wire in the helmet. You could also use a throat mic too.

I duck-taped 2 pouches that fit within the cavity of my back armor. I put my Rom F/X in one, and put the battery holders in the other. It works like a charm. That way no extra weight in the helmet.

Fast shipping, received mine today, it's beautiful!
Not too hard, not too soft, just right.
I like the pointed end on the keeper strap. Something many holster makers forget to add for accuracy.
Thanks !!

That being said, I don't recommend rushing through it. Take the time to make a strapping kit or add some snaps or something. If you go all velcro, you will regret it down the line.

I helped someone assemble a FX TX which was a recast so it was harder to get pieces match up, and we had to do the helmet too, but we managed to do it in 3 days.
If you have people helping you out and you only need to do the armor, you can do it in one night.
FX armor is probably the easiest armor to assemble.

I'm sorry, what bucket? All I see is legs

Oh I might be interested, but this is too much reading for me at 1 AM
Do you have a Pacific Outpost patch?
Edit: just read that there are only 7 available, so put me down for 1 Option A

I was just thinking of something similar. In episode 3, after order 66 went out, why hadn't the clones try to kill Anakin. It's not like there was a memo sent out that he was no longer a Jedi so to speak...
-
Wow... that is so sad...
-
Hmm I wonder if I have enough money.. >.<
If these sell out, do you make them to order, or do we have to wait for another run?
-
Not if they aren't taking orders... lol!
Edit: Doh! Spoke too soon. Sorry to hear about that injury Arron.

For TROOPING I think FX is probably the best. If you want accuracy, then look elsewhere.
Here are the reasons why I like the FX:
The helmet is slightly oversized so you can simply put the helmet on and take it off without any problems.
It's made out of ABS plastic. It's tough, lightweight, durable, and can easily be polished up with scratch remover.
It comes pre-trimmed and ready to assemble (though in this case it already is assembled)
Symmetrical (for those who want a idealized trooper)
One size fits most
Cheap
Plastic thickness is even throughout the armor
You can always use an FX armor and maybe get a more accurate bucket, and that gives you the best of both worlds.
-
FYI, FX helmet doesn't come ready to wear, unless you buy a used one.
Just like Murray said, there are armorers that will offer completed helmets for a fee.
Or you can ask one of your garrison members to help you out. I know "Peter" from your garrison is pretty talented

What's with the red helmet? Is that primer?

No one is ganging up, have you read the thread? The part where it says good job. Can it be any clearer then that. Jason and Paul clearly state the respect that they have for one another. I actually agree with what Paul is doing. Paul has clearly shown in the past and present where he stands within his power to do so, he is doing a great job. KEEP things in there right CONTEXT, don't put words in other peoples mouths, those are your words NOT mine - no ganging up here & very civil.
Suggestions or discussions on how to maybe better things for the future should not be seen as argumentative.
Eh you're right, I read part of the thread and it seemed like this was another complaint thread directed at Paul, the last being about Leather belts, and I was just kinda tired of seeing that kind of stuff..
-
Why is everyone ganging up on Paul? Give him a break, he isn't the one recasting stuff...
-
I agree, stuff like this only gets more rare everyday. If I got my hands on it, I'd probably keep it till I die.. and maybe get buried with it too. LOL
