Ok, I bumped into Trooper Tailor in my local Walmart, on my way to buy duck cloth/canvas to make myself a belt. He told me that Matt, aka TE said the belts were actually made out of 3" webbing. TE2 also supposedly uses webbing on some of his costumes.
Can anyone confirm this or deny this? I don't wan't to make a belt out of webbing if its going to turn me down for my elite status. And if it is confirmed that webbing was used, then lets change the requirements for the sake of accuracy?

One thing to consider is that with HIPS you get sharper details. ABS is a bit less sharp on the details.

Just got mine today. Thanks so much, Chris. I almost don't want to take them out of the plastic. As they are now, they're a part of history, in more ways than one...

I don't wanna take them out of the plastic either. Not until I complete my Officer tunic that is

That's some sweet looking armor.
If I had the funds I'd buy it.
Good luck!

I just ordered one of these since the price is seemingly so amazing (only $4 more than the WallyWorld voice changer... which I have and quite like the sound of). Thanks R2Dan for sharing! P.S. Do you know any "Struchtemeyers" (my last name) over in or around Herne?
I'm a newbie; almost finished with my first TK; and haven't been on any troops yet so I have zero experience "in the field". But what I'm confused about is how the WalMart voice changer and this most recent voice amp compares to the ROM/FX at £105.00, which I believe is $155. Does one simply have to hear each one to understand the significant price difference, or am I missing something else here? Thanks!
The ROM/FX is pricey but it is a custom design board made for us Troopers. It adds static bursts at the end of your sentences when you talk into a microphone. It allows you to adjust several other things, but that's basically the main difference.
I have both the Walmart voice changer and a Hyperdyne unit. The Hyperdyne is a close contender to the ROM/FX as it does pretty much the same thing.
The Walmart voice changer is not bad for the price you pay, but no static burst.
Once you been in this hobby for a while, you'll find yourself wanting better gear or armor.
It helps you seem like a real stormtrooper that much more!

I'm not sure but I think TE2 might have made a bumpy cap and made it smooth with some filler and sanded it down. Because someone didn't like his helmet bumpy. Or something like that..

Welcome to the boards!
As my first bit of recommendations, start downloading as many photo references as you can, the higher the quality, the better. Be sure to study those pics in detail, you may never know when you might learn something new.
Be sure to do your research and don't be afraid to ask if you get stuck at a point (but do use the search button!)
Please keep us updated on any progress you make. Pictures are a good way for us to guide you on any details you might have missed or need fixing.

I think there is someone in HI who could help find a replacement ;-)
At least I wouldn't have to pay shipping if I go that route
Shipping to Hawaii rapes <_<

fortunately/unfortunately I have an FX helmet
I'm going to try to make it modular so it can be adjusted to fit another helmet when I upgrade.

you already have a set? two's always better than one.
I'm already working on improving the current set I have such as replacing the helmet, and making things more accurate and adding a ROM/FX which costs quite a bit of money, on top of that I'm making an imperial officer and snowtrooper commander. Don't have money for more!
If I ever did get a second set of armor, it would have to be TE2

Just placed an order for a ROM/FX...
Stay tuned for more!

nice find. Indeed a good deal. If I didn't already have armor, id get that!

Can't wait!

I might be interested in 1. I always wanted an idealized trooper, that looked better than the FX.
Pm me information (price, and what comes with the kit)
Thanks!

baseball helmet liners are good. You can also just buy foam and cut it into patterns and hot glue it in your helmet

I want a set, though I don't use the RomFx, I use a hyperdine.
PM me when these are ready.
Also id be interested in the lens and mouth covers, if your willing to make those. Those look tight!!
