TK-10792 requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status (WTF)
Doggydoc replied to Brent Seymour's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi Brent The barrel looks much better now. I apologize for not catching it earlier, but your hengstler looks to have some significant print lines as well that we will need to be removed. Sometimes lighting or angles on the photo make these more obvious. -
Congratulations

Hi Roger. Welcome to the FISD. For a proper costume, you will likely be looking in the $1500 to $2000 range, depending on how much work you want to put into it yourself. As Glen mentioned, research is the key. So many people have just jumped in with 2 feet and found that they paid more for a costume that does not have the desired accuracy. Take your time, look over the above link and figure out which costume you want to do and then go from there. You will find lots of people here happy to assist you along your journey.

New to FISD and looking to join the 501st

Welcome to FISD Tom. You will find a wealth of knowledge here to get you on your way. -
Ultimately, it would be up to your GML if it will be acceptable for basic approval. At higher levels of approval, We would likely request it to be moved out from under the neck seal. As it is a fairly easy correction. I would recommend just moving it.

RS PROPMASTERS STUNT TK HELMET PAINT TIPS/HELP NEEDED.
Doggydoc replied to SamW's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
I have not done a painted TK helmet but did a death trooper one that has a very gloss black finish (mirror glossy). I did do a wet sand between coats to make sure there were no imperfections that would carry through to the top coats. After the 2K clear coat, I buffed it with a cutting compound and then a polishing compound with an electric car polisher to get the shine. If you are not going for a high gloss finish however, you can likely get away without the sanding between coats as I did on my daughter's clone trooper helmet -
Newbie trooper reporting!

Welcome Henry. I look forward to following your journey -
Hi Kaleb. We can definitely help with your costume. To upload photos, you will need to use a photo storage site like imgur or flickr . Most use imgur except those in the UK as it won’t work for them. Here is a great place to start looking at everything that you will need for your journey (assuming you are looking at doing a stormtrooper costume. These links specifically will help with getting photos posted so we can help you get to the point of approval.
