  1. Glen @gmrhodes13- I was actually just thinking of something like this to place each piece in! I'll start looking for things like this or material to make them with the labels. Do you know if anybody actually makes them as a kit to purchase? Great idea for those of us that are anal and don't want our nice paint jobs damaged Thanks again.
  2. Starting the painting process. It was warm out this week so I got the primer on.
  3. Masking is all done and everything is ready to get primed.
  4. Forming the clips for the forearms Yes, a Smuckers jelly jar works great The one in the background has not been formed yet so you can see the comparison…
  5. Also working on the new resin clips that were provided on the FB group. I had to heat and bend them to fit the curve of the armor. Picture is blurred but I got them to conform nicely. All the clips are ready to go except for the forearms. Those have to be sanded on the sides a bit to fit the indents…I’ll be doing that next.
  6. I have been working really hard at sanding the armor. I used 220 then 400 grit paper. That should be enough to make the primer grab. I have the whole kit now washed and dried. Will be masking where the clips attach next. Really fine, powdery dust so I’m glad the weather is getting nicer
  7. Added a piece of abs to the shoulder bell tabs…Not sure if it is needed for basic approval but it looks good!
  8. Ok finally getting around to posting more on my progress. I cut more abs the shape of the yoke arms hoping to reinforce it.
  9. Yes! -this is exactly what I am in the process of doing. I have a whole “C” shaped piece I will glue in the stress area on both arm hole areas.
  10. More box work for the left side... Marked the holes where to punch them out... Got the Velcro on the back of this pouch cover...
  11. Did another suit up... My yoke was a bit crooked in these pics as I need to find a better way of securing the chest plate wings to the yoke back wings. I’ll need to make some type of extenders so the wings can meet up and Velcro on the sides. Besides, this yoke from Walt’s is a bit small in my opinion (and that’s coming from a small framed person). My GML also has a problem with how small the chest plate is so I will be getting my BSP chest plate out and rigging that up to see how it looks with the yoke. The yoke has already cracked twice trying to get it over my head and shoulders . I have now added reinforcement behind those areas and hoping that helps. My helmet is now sitting higher as well as I adjusted the ring inside and added another pad on top If everything things look good, I want to start priming and painting next.
  12. Did some trimming down of the thighs and ankles from all the feedback. It actually feels alot better now that the parts are closer to my ankles and thighs! Let me know how it looks to you..
  13. Thanks Lou, My helmet was actually sitting too low on my head. Since then, I have adjust the mechanism inside so it now sits higher. Hoping that helps as it was also hitting the yoke when I turned my head. I’m going to kit up again since of done more trimming and adjusting
  14. Hi Mario! @TKSpartan Thanks so much! It seems this is the consensus so far and my local GML has stated the same. The photos with the markings really helps. I think once I pull these pieces in a bit more it will solve the issue. I have a bunch of padding I can add as well. Thanks again for the support so far.
  15. Hi Glen, @gmrhodes13 Thanks so much! I am planning on making these adjustments this weekend. I did not want to cut too much initially and I have left the thighs Velcroed on the inside because of this. I appreciate the feedback.
  16. After doing the trimming on the thighs, ankles, forearms and biceps i did my very FIRST test fit of almost the whole kit (forgot TD, side belt boxes not done yet and spats are not attached yet). It took about 45 minutes to get suited up!! Let me know your thoughts...
  17. Using the proper marking device
  18. Got replacement belt boxes from WTF as our BSP kit did not come with them. Trimmed and sanded the edges.
  19. Got the spats all Velcroed up. I’ll cover mask the Velcro when I get ready to prime and paint.
  20. Velcroed up the chest plate. Wow more than I thought! This plate goes under the yoke chest piece to give it strength and for the chest plate to mount to. I may not need this down the road but trying it for now… Added some extra abs here to build it up a bit then Velcro so it will transition nicely to the back wing. Back wing…
  21. Did my very first test fit of the upper parts. Feedback is welcomed. First impression-"wow, I look really big, intimidating, like a robot almost!" Second-"how in the hell am I going to do this by myself?!" Don't mind the straps-those were trimmed. I need to do some fine trimming so things are not rubbing or overlapping like here. Need to trim the bicep a bit plus move it up towards my shoulder on the gasketing.
  22. Working on defining the line in the biceps as well... I think they will look much better than the latter. I used a small micro, round file. Adding Velcro for the shoulder and elbow gaskets
  23. Got the bells together and mounted with the strapping I decided to make the snaps adjustable so added some Velcro. May change the 1” belting to elastic in the future.
  24. Opened up the vent. I was going to use a black sticker but decided to go for the more authentic look I used a new razor blade to make the cuts then used some force and heat to bend the flap in. I also sanded some of he edges off to make the gap a bit larger. Im glad I did this. I believe I just need to use gaffers tape behind this vent.
