  1. Just did this mod and it worked flawlessly. My first time soldering too!
  2. Great news all…I got approved by my NEG GML team! I want to thank everyone here especially @gmrhodes13 for the detailed guidance along the way. I plan to go for EI next. Here a few shots of my first 4 troops, with the very first being a performer with Weird Al! I am still pinching myself! Yup, that’s me!
  3. Did a full suit up!
  4. Ok thanks @gmrhodes13 for the tips. We did notice the butt was flaring out. Is there any specs on how to make the “v” tabs? I don’t quite understand without seeing them on the armor.
  5. Did a test fit of the the abdomen piece and thighs.
  6. Added some snaps to the thigh straps.
  7. Started working on the shoulder bell strapping. Used a white paint maker to find the snaps. Also got the spacing for the screen accurate snaps and sewed them on.
  8. Got a neighbor to stitch my thigh elastic! I may try to install snaps on these instead of glueing them to the thighs. I also bought a pair of suspenders to try that method for extra support.
  9. I got some time on this rainy day so I sewed the buttons on to the shoulder straps. I placed them inwards towards my neck a bit more as @JBar suggested.
  10. @gmrhodes13 I like the snap idea! About where do you place the snaps on the thigh? Up high or a bit lower? I have plenty of foam so will try a piece in the back. Again, this was the very first time I have worn it. I’ll make sure the belt is down in the back as well and think it will help to have the TD and the holster on.
  11. I was able to try something on for the first time. I’m trying to get the sizing and gap correct for the black elastic thigh straps. How does fitment look before I go ahead and glue the straps to the inner front thighs and then stich the top parts to make a sleeve for the under belt to slide through?
  12. Worked on adjusting the shoulder straps and getting them to the proper length for my build/torso. Then moved on to the elastic to hold down the top ribbed shoulder straps…tied them in a knot then applied some e6000 to hold them in place…
  13. Ok-great @gmrhodes13! Knowing that, I will place the snaps in the shoulder strapping for the placement and add the retainment strap elastic x2. Felt good to actually wear something... I can finally start to put this thing together now!
  14. I’m trying to get the length for the shoulder straps. How does this look for spacing and placement?
  15. Got some work done on the shoulder straps. Used the marker method from @Cricket to get my cut points for the holes.
  16. Had a con weekend here in VT so lost time building. In the process of glueing more of the snaps in the ab and kidney sections.
  17. Placed and glued on the snaps on the underneath of the chest to receive the white elastic strap.
  18. Glued a curved spacer piece of abs to the bottoms of the shoulder straps for more glue surface contact area. Then applied glue then on to the chest!
  19. Hi Glen, Yes-there is some play and I can certainly move it upwards to cover more of the armor gaps and closer to the cover strip. I purposely did not glue it yet just in case there was some feedback like this!
  20. Just a loose fitting here. How does the fitment/placement of the chest to the bottom cod piece look? I feel the chest should be a bit higher? Here is what I have for placement of the shoulder straps…
  21. drilled the 1/8 holes in the right thigh and used some double cap rivets to secure. Painted the rivets with Testors gloss white.
  22. Ok thanks @gmrhodes13! That is weird as the Anovos cut lines were followed I will commence drilling into the thigh sides for the rivets.
  23. Working on the right thigh, ammo pack. Hoping these markings and placement looks good? Will not proceed until I get some feedback here. Looks like the hole and rivet need to be in the center?
  24. Are these trimmed correctly? If so, Is it three or four tabs that need to be glued and showing on the chest plate?
  25. Worked on reinforcing the belt where the holster straps will hang. I used a temporary advertising license plate! Cut it down, cut the belt through one layer and slid it in. Finished by using a small dab of e6000 on the remaining cloth part of the belt. I also cut some small patches out to fill the ANH holes where the holster was attached. This should keep it sturdy when wearing it. It’s funny because I am doing all this but have never even worn these things. I hope it all comes together soon!
