FYI, Seems like MA310 is difficult to find, but MA300 is a suitable alternative, only difference being the MA300 only has a 3-5minute fix time compared to the 310 which had 15-20mins. I just picked some up off Amazon last week. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thighs! I think it’s redundant to mention what a PITA it can be getting happy with how human thighs look, let alone armored versions. You know the old adage ‘measure twice, cut once’? My version is “measure 23 times, still be uncertain it’s right, cut never”. Which in the IT world is called "Analysis Paralysis". I will say, I wish there had been more resources of how people determined their Thigh shaping, so I documented as much as possible. I even resorted to looking at the shape and cut of other Phasmas, tracing the line, calculating the angles, and using that to help form my decisions. In the end, here is how much I decided to cut off the tops and bottoms of the ‘front’ thigh; And the backs; Made my scary cuts, and rewarded myself with a tall one After straightening the edges and much sanding, I got my butt-join parts glued down before calling it a night. I call these shots ‘excessive clamps’ Now that the kids are in bed, I can go glue the other half of my butt join, and start working on the shins! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Ok I’ve sanded and did a first pass of primer on several parts, huzzah. Shoulder Bells: Heels: Cod Piece: Abs join has been spot putty’d, sanded, and more putty… ready for another pass of primer to check quality Putty on the back/yolk join, also ready for more primer I also spent a crap-ton of time working on the thighs, getting them sized and cut down… I’ll do that in a single post since it was quite the production for me. Picture-heavy update! First, I’m pleased to have "finished" my initial sand/primer phase on these, and setting these aside until later. Next, I finally glued the bells and sanded best I could. Not perfect, but the tops won’t be seen much. And then, the abs… I’ve gone with joining the sides, and separated the back to use a clasp to close. I’ve sanded down the sides to make closing it that much easier. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Sand sand, primer primer. These will need light touch filler putty, and another couple passes with the primer Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hey I appreciate those resources, but maybe you missed the updated photo? I'm already wet-sanding and adding additional spot putty.

Thanks Sly11 ! I’ve been squirreling away in the garage whenever possible… I’m thinking of starting on the Abs/back of abs, probably going to do a similar closure that TheSwede used. updates from the last few nights: I placed the resin cutout into my breastplate (talk about scary) Cut/reshaped the ‘yolk’ and glued it to the back piece Touched up the biceps and forearms, after wet-sanding these I ended up putting another layer of filler, just needs more primer! I dunno if you need me to post all the URLS, but most of the LadyInWhite Phasma thread is broke https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32972-ladyinwhite-phasma-build/page/2/ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Updates! I got my forearms and biceps completed, with greeblies, and a first layer of primer. Pretty happy with how hidden the join lines are on these [emoji3060] Obviously these need sanding, but moving on to my next big project, chest and back!

I just wanted to mention, I’m in the process of making a TLJ KB Phasma, so watching your progress with great interest! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thanks! It's only been a year since starting, but with Celebration looming May of 22, I now have a hard deadline!

So i've had a lot going on, and had to put Phasma to bed for a minute. Thankfully, the weather is nice and garage is clean so she's back on the workbench. This is my accountability post before I jump back in and make an inventory of things I need to clean up and put together. 1) Tops of Boots are sanded/primed/painted... ready as they'll ever be for now 2) Biceps are reinforced and green-stuff joined. Need to sand down and prime/spray 3) Forearms are assembled and ready for sanding and priming. Need to clean up the ridged rail and get that glued down 4) Box & greebles are sanded/ready to go, need to be attached. Everything else is in a raw/unfinished state, figured I would do this one section at a time.

Yeah, he has the nearly 20-inch bed, mine is only 8"!! With That kind of bed space he makes all sorts of blasters, rifles, and buckets. This one is printed in PLA, just so I can size it. Then he's going to re-do it in ABS so we can chemically smooth it. Meanwhile i'm over here like "uhh I made a phasma ornament"

I've been AWOL for a while, but i'm back! My 3D printer couldn't print my helmet in one piece, so I struggled with polishing out cut lines. My buddy print a new version 2.0 and I have to say, looks sexy as hell!

Very well done! Looks great, hope it was worth the wait & investment Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
So I’m having sizing issues with my forearms being too small. This reference photo is now blowing my mind. Based on this angle, the greebles are coming off the forearm quite a bit, and they are closer to the “top” than I’ve seen, which means I can maybe cut off another 1/2” and still be ok? (Basically where the blue tape is) Currently this piece is sizing way too large otherwise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Perfect! Thanks so much, that's way clearer & less scary to put together!

Awesome. I hadn’t seen some of these references Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh yeah!! I did end up attaching more references to my Forearm post. This is the image i'm basing how thick to make the wrist portion of the forearm: I know it's blurry, but so far it's the best "head on" picture that shows the reflection and depth of the forearm. Here's my cut: And the sides (mimicking your method) Now which side did you wish you cut down more? Flat side: Round side: Based on this screengrab, it seems like the bulk of what you can see is just the box (under her wrist)

Assembly: Forearm While I wait for my Plexus MA310 to arrive, I decided I needed to finally buckle down and figure out how to assemble the scary first piece of armor: The forearm. I've been looking at other build threads, and I think that i'm going to copy @Sea_Marshall's method (thread here). But first, obligatory reference photos (so I don't have to keep finding them in my camera roll) Left arm Right arm More Screenshots: So far, the best look at the inside of the bracer This is the image i'm basing how thick to make the wrist portion of the forearm: I've been delaying the inevitable first piece by focusing on my helmet build, but really feel like I should be getting more work done on the body too... though it's not like I have much else going on and this global pandemic just keeps happening so it's really nice to have something to keep me busy.

Weekend Update: Mucho sanding. Always wear your PPE! After a first pass I realized I was going to have some issues that occurred while printing. The .STL I chose was very screen accurate, but unfortunately did not survive the scaling up process. I got some pretty nasty bumps, and while a smart person would have re-printed the part, I went for "quick up-front, pay for it later in post-processing." Hence: Also, I was worried I would continue to lose my lines with every pass of bondo/sanding. Therefore, after much pouting and worrying, I finally buckled down and starting masking the shucks out of it. After my next pass of bondo & sanding, it was starting to look pretty smooth Next up: continued passess of bondo putty & body, more masking, many hours of sanding.

She's got a faceplate and a frown and looks like an actual helmet! Pre-Bondo Added some spot-filler to the glue spots And today I learned that Bondo is really hard to work with. Gunna do an initial sanding then add more to suit!
