Episode 9 Stormtrooper research (Caution Spoilers Ahead)
LEGOeatPokemon replied to Alay's topic in TROS Stormtrooper
Anyway, I found that there was not that much more footage of the sithtroopers other than what has been in the trailers. I think they had more shots with regular troopers, rather than the new ones. -

Now I'm done for the day. Well that deadline didn't work Anyway I glued on those male snaps on the armor: And glued on the rest of the left shoulder strap: And I put on the snaps and chicago screws for the belt: ' They sat well with the armor on too Now a question; I only have 1-1/4 wide elastic for the belt boxes, does that work? Probably won't do anything tomorrow as a certain movie has premiere Nordic garrison should be here in my local cinema in Umeå when I arrive so maybe I can get some pictures with them! -

Update time! Today I redid the snaps (right this time) And glued on the new left strap: Also glued on the female snaps on the right side: Then I remembered; I hadn't put in the ab to belt snaps! That was a right pain to do this late. I also made holes for the cloth belt to the plastic one: And then I followed your advice @justjoseph63 and made some nylon straps for the posterior to kidney. I couldn't put them exactly were you showed because of the brackets and I don't have that wide nylon, so I made four straps and put them a bit to the side. I will add the male snaps later. Is it ok? -

@gmrhodes13 Yeah, it didn't go so well... But I must inform that I have decided to keep the brackets as it seems like the best option right now. I maybe can reinforce them another way instead of plastic strips? -

Ok, so after measuring a bit on the shoulders I made the straps for them: I also made this to glue to the chest part: However something about this is wrong, can you guess what? THE SNAPS ON THE RIGHT STRAP WERE MADE ON THE WRONG SIDE!!! And of course I didn't realize that until I had already glued them on... Fortunatly I managed to save it somewhat by making the left strap into the right. I will still need to Resew the other. -

Should I have 2 or 3 straps between the kidney to posterior? If 3, I would have to go over the brackets and wouldn't that become a bit wonky? Maybe I should just use the brackets in addition with elastic straps as backup reinforcements on the sides of the brackets? -

And the last thing for today; the right kidney to ab strap! (Can I have another strap under it? So it becomes more straight when worn.) Also I rounded out the edges at the posterior @justjoseph63 I thought there was something scratching me! -

So, I am doing this as I go today, I recently finished these straps: Now I am going to try and figure out the rest, about how should everything line up? Should the crotch sit close or more space in between? How close should the posterior sit? -

By the way I remembered that I still have the old strapping system from SDS! Maybe I can repurpose those? -

@justjoseph63 Just checked up on the gloves, yeah they didn't stick, I had sanded the back of the handguards though. They come from trooperbay since I had thought of buying from you but I think they were unavalible when I checked in late october. -

I might put in elastics in addition with the brackets, then they won't be AS fragile, right? -

So about those reinforcement strips, I won't have them. They were simply too thick for the screws. If anything cracks or breaks, then I will repair it. The bracket system came on atleast: And I glued on these suckers too after trimming them a bit: I have also glued on the silicon handguards on the gloves Now I know E6000 isn't the best job for this, but I wanted to try it anyway since I don't have any super glue. Now I have a question about snaps, I only bought one box of snaps from trooperbay and is wondering what these are called: Should I buy some more? I know there are other sorts too. Can I use these for the ¨Han¨ snap that I have heard about, am a bit unsure? Or the belt snaps since I have seen another sort being used in some builds. -

So now I have started on the bracket system. I have made the holes, altough I don't particually like that there was almost no return edge to drill on. I also made the holes for the side rivets! I could only glue a couple of the reinforcement strips as I don't have that many clamps. I have more time tomorrow, should I continue glueing the strips or just screw them on with the brackets? (Just trying to hurry to EP9 premiere!) -

Getting ready for the bracket system, reinforcement strips are made since SDS has almost no return edge at all. Should I glue them on or should I just have them pinched between the screws and brackets? -

I know that, I have taken of as much of the return edge as I can, it can't be much more tighter. I have a bit skinny legs so I was already prepared to put in padding if needed. Thank you though.
