  1. @justjoseph63 Just checked up on the gloves, yeah they didn't stick, I had sanded the back of the handguards though. They come from trooperbay since I had thought of buying from you but I think they were unavalible when I checked in late october.
  2. I might put in elastics in addition with the brackets, then they won't be AS fragile, right?
  3. So about those reinforcement strips, I won't have them. They were simply too thick for the screws. If anything cracks or breaks, then I will repair it. The bracket system came on atleast: And I glued on these suckers too after trimming them a bit: I have also glued on the silicon handguards on the gloves Now I know E6000 isn't the best job for this, but I wanted to try it anyway since I don't have any super glue. Now I have a question about snaps, I only bought one box of snaps from trooperbay and is wondering what these are called: Should I buy some more? I know there are other sorts too. Can I use these for the ¨Han¨ snap that I have heard about, am a bit unsure? Or the belt snaps since I have seen another sort being used in some builds.
  4. So now I have started on the bracket system. I have made the holes, altough I don't particually like that there was almost no return edge to drill on. I also made the holes for the side rivets! I could only glue a couple of the reinforcement strips as I don't have that many clamps. I have more time tomorrow, should I continue glueing the strips or just screw them on with the brackets? (Just trying to hurry to EP9 premiere!)
  5. Getting ready for the bracket system, reinforcement strips are made since SDS has almost no return edge at all. Should I glue them on or should I just have them pinched between the screws and brackets?
  6. I know that, I have taken of as much of the return edge as I can, it can't be much more tighter. I have a bit skinny legs so I was already prepared to put in padding if needed. Thank you though.
  7. Hello Joseph, I have the undersuit that came with the armor still, I just didn't feel like putting it on at the moment.
  8. Today I removed the clamps on the sniper plate: Looks good? And I made a bit more room behind the knee on the thighs: And the shins (also added velcro): So, test fit time! I think it fits kinda well? I should be able to walk up regular stairs... I think the bracket system is up next!
  9. Ok, so finally home! Did some work on the armor and glued the sniper plate on! I hope I took enough glue... Does the alignment look ok? After that I drilled the holes one the ammo pack: Next I put it on the thigh: Now I know why I've seen so many painted the rivets after they were set. THEY GET SCRUFFED UP! (Also I think the colour on them became a bit to yellow.) Atleast the ends are the same distance from the corners! (I've marked them they are about 1 cm each.) Unfortunatly I couldn't split the rivet as much as I wanted, I may come back to those. And now, a question: Does these need to be trimmed a bit? Are they a bit wide?
  10. @TheSwede Sorry, but I couldn't stay very long at the con, I had family with me and they wanted to leave after 2 hours. Oh, well... And we're leaving Stockholm tomorrow. Some other time maybe. Well I got some pictures atleast at the booth: http://imgur.com/a/ezND4X0 (actually the first picture here with my face) and some other photos I took: http://imgur.com/a/jjWCcvZ
  11. @TheSwede Thanks, I am going to be there around the opening time for the con! Will be there hopfully a couple of hours. Hoppas vi ses!
  12. @Von Goodleef I bought two sets of these: https://trooperbay.com/costuming-supplies/hardware/10-pc-5-16-x-1-8-rare-earth-magnets they have bigger, but these work kinda well too
  13. Ok so I won't be posting any updates through the weekend as I am going to a convention in Stockholm. The nordic garrison should be there so maybe I can ask some questions! Anyway last thing done before leaving tomorrow: Handpainted the rivets (only 8) and all the screws for the bracket system! 44 all in all! Well hopefully it will go well in the capital, so wish me luck!
  14. So adressing these issues, I have glued on 25 mm wide coverstrips back but there was already 25 mm at the front. Those at the front were already glued on (or more like plastered on), as it was already assembled when I got the armour. Is it ok or not with those at the front, I'm a bit confused?
  15. So here is the left leg sanded: Looks fine, I guess? Also began glueing the coverstrip on the rears of the shins now that the inner strips are done: They are however a little hard to bend, something I should be thinking about? And I scuffed up some rivets too! Soon time for paint! But not today, I had a long day at school. At least the legs are soon done!
  16. Thank you Dave for remembering the other legs caoverstrip, I had forgotten about that! Done! Here is how the rest came out after sanding a bit: It doesn't show very well but they are still a LITTLE rough, don't think it will be a problem though. I also glued on some inner covering strips (Thanks, Joseph!): Now, I know that the thigh ammo pack should be mounted with rivets, and that they need to be painted. How many of the rivets and screws should be painted for the whole armor, I thought of painting them all in one go. (PS I also have MrNoStripes bracket set too)
  17. Here is how the thighs came out: Left back: Left front: Right back: Right front: And I finally made some ABS paste! Also on the sniper plate: Good thing the front of the legs already were coverstripped insted of overlapped.
  18. @gmrhodes13 Thanks! I never expected they took away THAT much in ANH!
  19. Thighs hopefully done with covering strips Left: It's not a problem, I hope, that the strip will be a bit to the right? :/ Right: Both glueing: Can you trim a bit at the back return edge so you can bend your leg a little better? Hopefully I have done all this correctly and wont need to redo. I know it's a bit different with the shins backside, so you can fasten with velcro etc. How should I do that? By the way, my deadline for completing this armor is the 18th, in time for Ep9 , I had forgot to mention that earlier. If I can't do it by then, oh well...
  20. Sorry for not being so active lately, I have been sick and haven't been able to work. Anyway, today I trimmed the new thigh ammo pack from ATA, should I put it in some hot water as it's a little hard and I don't want it to break? And I also trimmed the sniper plate a bit Before: After: I also trimmed away the return edge under it, forgot to take picture. Now a question, should I fix the overlap issue and change the legs to coverstrip before or after putting on the ammo pack and sniper plate?
