  1. Hmmmm... I've been looking at their DT kits too, and have been told the opposite. Are there other makers out there that have them?
  2. Yeeeeeeeah. I'll post some pics after the 1st in my thread. Have some serious gaps in my chest/ab plate. Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  3. I ahhh....might have a problem with my ATA. I'm 6'-4", but thankfully haven't been able to do much of anything to mine (as you know), so might be able to sell it at cost. Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  4. I'm still here. Hahahaha. End of the year is always insanely busy for me. I should be picking things back up after the 1st. Nice Staind reference. [emoji41] Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  5. I haven't even touched mine yet. They're scary, and the ABS is thick af too. Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  6. Actually, that helps a TON. The upward slope is definitely there. I'll wait to cut the notches, however, until it's all fitted. Just to ensure it's right. Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  7. Hmmmm....I have no lower notch cutout lines. There is a raised return edge on one side, but its flat on the other. Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  8. @Rat, thanks man! Any advice on the pics and trim lines I posted yesterday? Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  9. Is there a right-side-up on the Kidney, or is it meant to be either side up? Also, I might have to go with snaps system instead of brackets, since my waist size might mean I have to trim all return edge from kidney to it meets with the ab plate for Centurion requirement, leaving no attachment point for brackets. Will have to wait and see how it all fits when taped on for initial pre-sizing with the undersuit.
  10. Boy, first lack of pics, now a plethora! Back piece. Do I leave return edge (Blue line), or take it all off and cut to the Red line? Left pic is blue line cut. Right pic is interior other side, not yet trimmed at all. Again by the look of the left pic, I'm guessing all the way to the red line is what I want, yes? Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  11. Same question on the cod. Red or Blue wire? On this one I'm assuming its the red line, but I want to be sure before I start trimming. Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  12. For the buttplate, do I cut along the red line, or the blue? Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  13. Copy that, thanks! Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  14. Are the shins held up by anything other than the boots? I know I've seen velcro thigh suspension systems, but cant recall anything for shins, and a search hasn't helped. Thanks! Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  15. LBB Day! Aside from my HFX E-11, which hopefully should arrive soon, my shipment arrived from Imperial Boots' September wave just now! Having read in a few threads about size running on the small side, I ordered a size 13. I normally wear a 12. First thing I noticed was these guys do not skimp on their packaging. It arrived in a DHL shipping envelope. Inside that was another white plastic shipping envelope wrapped in IB tape. Inside that was the shoebox, also wrapped in IB tape. In the shoebox, both boots were immaculate, each wrapped in their own microfabric mesh baggie, and each stuffed with filler packing to retain its shape for shipment, along with what I'd call a "certificate of authenticity", thanking you for buying from them, and a 4" x 4" patch! Trying them on they both fit perfectly. I did notice that I could not feel any discernible arch support, but ordering the next size up from my normal, that leaves just enough room for a gel/arch support insert. Perfect for trooping! All in all so far 10/10 for this product! Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  16. Yeah I plan on maintaining it pretty well, but just like driving, you can only control what you do and not what anyone else does. I'm envisioning bumps and jostles to where I might want that little bit of extra rigidity on the brackets just in case. Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  17. That's pretty much EXACTLY what I was considering doing! My worry was ABS cracking as well. Good to know I was on the right mindset track! [emoji41] Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks @PhilBobTheFish! Also, regarding the bracket style system, does anyone have, or can take of theirs, a good close-up pic of how they are attached to the ab/chest/kidney/back? I assume they are mounted to the return edge of those pieces, yes?
  19. If I have the Bracket-Style system for chest/ab/kidney/back, I would still need the Snap Tabs & Elastic set (assuming I don't make my own) as well for things like shoulder bells, correct?
  20. Thanks Tony. It's a daunting task, to be sure. I know I'm lacking in the pics department, but I never remember to take any as I'm going. It's always after. LOL
  21. Awesome, thanks! Yeah I did the initial trims even leaving some of the rough cutaway areas until my first taped fittings, just to make sure. Can always take off more, but putting something back after you've removed it is definitely something I don't want to mess with.
  22. How much ridge should there be on the shins and thighs, both front and back for the cover strip to set on? I trimmed close to the edge, but not exactly on it. Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  23. I'm a firm believer in "The right tool for the right job.". What's the difference between the curved lexan scissors and the straight ones? Is it as simple as curved for curved lines, and straight for straight ones? Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  24. So I have a couple issues. First and foremost being that Amazon delivered me an empty bag, when it was supposed to contain my curved and straight Lexan shears set. No, it did not get stolen because there is a friend outside waiting for their kid to get out of school literally in my driveway and saw the driver walk up deliver the package and leave and I came outside two minutes later. GRRRRRRRR! Secondly is a cutting/trimming question. Should I cut right to the excess line (red), or go close to it (blue), size it on with tape and go from there? I'm thinking the latter, since you can always trim more if needed, but it's a PITA, if even possible, to go back once you've cut, correct? Lastly, as you can see by the image, my right shin (Image is not as if it's on me. Right pic is labeled "R" in sharpie inside) is pretty strange. It has a large curve that would be on my outside ankle, yet the left hand side of it is drastically higher. Was this a bad pull of ABS? Is it normal? Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
  25. You got 4 full ABS plates with your kit, yes? I did mine. Sent from my MSE-6 droid using Tapatalk
