SublimeBW's Armor Master's (AM) ANH Stunt Kit - Build Thread
FN1313 replied to SublimeBW's topic in ANH Build Threads
Honestly it’s a work of persistent adjusting until everything is set. What I did was clamp things in place and mark where the front of the shin was against the back of the knee plate. Then I added glue and clamp/magnets there and clamped with strong clamps the sides down with glue as well. Being sure that the edge line matched up with the shin’s edge line too. Alright, new doubled up snaps for the back to kidney. And heated and bent the posterior more inward. And tightening the bicep straps hoping that will keep shoulders in closer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah TD is an easy fix back plate I probably will just tighten the straps, since they are snap made I don’t have to do any new work for glue and wait, just make some double straps to counter the pull of the shoulder bridge straps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Here’s a quick suit up I did today (still no helmet yet) forgot to do one without the blaster for better visibility… Top left shin hook came undone here Everything feels pretty comfortable as I’d want to in trooping. Knee sniper plate could use some foam to not press hard into my knee and push it forward a bit. Also looks like maybe using a little heat to bend the bottom of the tushy protector in and under my rump, might be good. Any thoughts on how to minimize the space between chest and shoulder bells up front more? I have a pretty bulky chest and back from lifting and all, so the challenge I’m seeing is it hits the side of my chest and has a hard time getting closer to the chest armor. I’ve doubled up the elastic connecting to the shoulder bridge elastic. Maybe heat to open the bell up more and then tighter elastic to the bicep?

Hello and welcome, looking forward to your progress Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I had a very similar journey to the 501st with a Rubies armor. Good to see you here and looking forward to your progress! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Always best to aim for centurion from the start as it’s easier to achieve when you build to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Couple steps forward and one back today. I got the internal shoulder bridge strapping done and was able to try things on. The back armor plastic over the shoulders was pushing the bridges and front plastic up so I trimmed both sides of the back armor back about 30mm that should help with the bridges laying flat along with the elastic bands The other thing I noticed while suiting up and checking shoulder bells is I had the bells on the wrong sides so I’ve since removed the elastic holding them to the biceps and have new elastic setting so I can swap them around Slight delay but shouldn’t be too long. So the first thing with understanding build thread is giving the look through other build threads to see how others have done them. Some of us use them as a way to provide a road map for others in their build questions and paths, others use them as a means to ask questions and get an idea of how to proceed in their armor building process. For example you can see a number of OTTK build threads here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/6-anh-stunt-and-hero/ Regarding image posting and such you can follow information in this guide on how to host your images in Imgur and then insert into posts and build threads. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/48799-posting-photos-using-imgur-101/ Hopefully those resources can get you going. If you aren’t sure where to start with a build thread, I’d recommend maybe photos of inventory of your hard armor to make sure everything is there and then you can start sizing things and using blue tape to hold things together while you try an initial pre cuts and sizing try on of the armor. General rule is you should be able to just fit your thumb in between the thigh and your leg. So if that is how it fits then that’s how you’ll trim. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yeah as I see them I don’t intend any changes When I’ve worn it in testing it’s been pretty good as is. I’m in no rush though. Waiting for my helmet as is and will be out of town from the 4th through 8th. I’m actually more worried about it delivering when I’m gone so I hope Dave got my email about when I’m out of town. I will update the relevant sections later, Last night I did the paint on the rivets And also painted the pan head screws on the TD today Took the shoulder bridges I made and glued them into place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sandtrooper would be the easiest if it’s looking roughed up as is. There are definitely some differences between stormtroopers and Sandtroopers so you’d want to check out the CRLs and build sections of the forums to get more info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m not really doing anything to it. So long as it sits right above the kidney against my back I don’t see any need to be doing any alterations. From what I can see unless you’re really a smaller individual it will sit against your back as is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good to know. Yeah for highest approval the rubber gloves where what you’d use, I did buy a few sets of rubber guards to use with my rubber gloves and nonexistent gloves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Back plate wing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So mine was a kit from Dave and it came with both of these hand guards. The top is for anh, so if you have those with yours that’s what you’ll go for. If not then I’d also suggest maybe getting some flexible ones as they are really nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah I figured you probably were aware, but I wanted to provide imagery if you needed it. That’s a good quality commission though! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Updates today. Done some more work on the rigging of the armor. For the inner shoulder bridge strapping The chest armor to abdomen rigging The strap for the codpiece The back plate strapping snaps (Only one snap so it’s easier to connect as this will be a regular connect/disconnect spot I also did some work on a reinforcement plastic piece for the shoulder bridges. You can see I have part of it curved and the other bent at an angle. This is because the angled part is where it will split from the bridge and glue on the underside of the chest armor. The curved part will be what is attached to the bridge. I applied e6000 to the curved area and clamped to cure for 24 hours. I will glue to the chest tomorrow. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Also just in case you didn’t already know here’s some notes on the armor pieces based on your photo so you know what goes where and fitting. Feel free to ask any questions if you are having any about the fitting of your armor. Looking good! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Which armor version are you going for as well? The hand guards you put on are ESB I believe. Did the kit come with others for anh? I know mine did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Taking your time is a valuable thing to do. I usually see more issues from rushing a build than taking time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Welcome, be sure as well to reference the CRL in detail while making the costume to make sure you are hitting all the details that are up to date. Also if you plan to go higher levels of approval its sometimes easier to work toward that from the start than later on. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I bought some black abs plastic off amazon for the reinforcement and tabs. It was 3mm thick and honestly probably a little thick for what I needed, so if I redid things I’d go thinner. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
