6. Keep it up sir. Getting close
7. And I am official. TK 38987
8. I got my basic approval email today.
Next up on to EIB
9. Thanks. I made that adjustment and pulled my thighs and biceps up a tad.i redid the snaps and strapping on the right side and got that gap to about 1/8" Approval pictures submitted to my gml. I'll clean up the armor tonight and check over some things. Wore it for about 90 minutes during pictures, and once i get my rubber hand plates in i will redo them for eib and centurian. Thank you sir
10. My bucket is finished I'm done. Suit up again tomorrow to make sure my adjustments are ok before i take and submit my approval pics.
11. Keep it up. Looking good sir.
12. Added 4 small pieces of velcro in addition to the snaps at the buttplate/kidney area. Added extra snaps at the shoulder so i can make the shoulder straps longer. A tiny bit of wet sanding and i added the grey paint to the ears. I'll hopefully finish wet sanding and strapping changes tonight.
13. Lol. Thanks. I still have some work to do on the bucket and tightening everything up. I took the night off other than unclamping what i did last night.
14. Test fit. See what needs adjusted as i finish everything up and get ready to submit my approval pics. The pics will be for basic 501st approval, but i am aiming for centurian. (i know i have to get basic, then eib first) First i can see i definitely need to bring in that left shoulder bel a tad. Done Biceps need to come up a tad so they dont pop out of the shoulder bells when i move my arms. Done. I am bringing my ab/kidney down a bit. That will help with the back plate overlap of the kidney plate and will keep the black minimal when i drop the thighs a bit. Shin/calves need to come down so they dont pop over my boot when i walk. Left side gap is about 1/8" where ab and kidney connect Right side gap is 1/4"-1/2" so i moved those snaps to allow easier fastening and am redoing the connection to drop that to 1/8" or less. Drop the belt so it isnt riding up in the back. Left to do. Finish polishing the ears/tubes. I started the esr paint. Add lenses and tube stripes. Clean up paint on chin. Handplates. I have ordered them but i may trim the plastic ones while i wait, if everything else is finished first. Anything i missed or changes i need to make? I do have my td finished it was not added since the black paint on the screws was still drying. I adjusted it so it is pointed out instead of up. Home stretch. Hopefully i will be done by Thursday. Being a stormtrooper for my birthday would be pretty killer.
15. Helmet sanded. I still havent polished it yet. I got all snaps in place, rivet holes marked, belt finished, bicep hooks. Shoulder straps glued to chest plate. Productive day. The end is near. Left to do. Internal strapping, split rivets, polish helmet, lenses, tube stripes, clean up paint. S trim. Hand guards.
16. A little sanding and polishing tomorrow. Tube stripes and lenses. S gasket. Glue my last few snaps. Sunday. Finishing touches and clean up, strap it up.
17. 5/8" for the first hole and another 5/8" for the second (1 3/8" from edge) Bling Split rivet placement. I measured 15mm from the top. (ab side) Then where the red line and arrow are, is what i used for my bottom. Since below that is the cod (i think thats how i read it) With 10mm from the edge. Splitting the difference between the 2 for my 3rd rivet. 60mm from center to center. I think i read it properly that the edge of the rivet should be 10mm from the edge of the ab/kidney. If so then i will be set for Sunday when i pop those into place.
18. For The eyes i pushed foil around the opening, noodled out 1/4 brick of sculpy, pressed around the outside of the opening, gently removed foil, bake. The foil holds the shape and after it cools, gently pulled away from the molded sculpy. I also got an ear trimmed. If the position is ok then i will drill and screw it on tomorrow. If i press down on the screw holes, half of that gap disappears.
19. Double width of tape. Press inside of helmet. Trace and mark left/right. Remove and draw a 1/4" line outside of trace line. Cut out tape. Place on lense material. Cut out. Next step in a bit.
20. And after days of searching. I found the thread i was looking for.
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29238-my-helmet-ear-tutorial/
My ears are still a litgle thick compared to the ones in thread. So I am on the right path.
21. Since my 9:00 cancelled i went ahead and started the cleaning up of the thickness on those black lines. Looks a lot better already. I'll do more after work as i try to figure this helmet out. Thanks for the help and advice
22. Yea. I dont like the paint, i am going to redo it. I found my pinstriping brushes so i can get i suoer thin clean line
23. I cant get it past my forehead at the moment. Even sideways. Wont have to trim much. Thank you
24. And thats done. Swapped clamps for magnets. Claps werecleaving marks in the rubber.
